Hey everyone, it’s HopeGirl! I wanted to give you all a heads up about some big changes happening on my YouTube channel so nobody panics.
As many of you know, I lost my original YouTube channel after it was hacked — a channel I’d built over 14 years with zero violations. It was heartbreaking, but I’ve made my peace with it and moved forward. I started a brand new channel about two months ago, and while the slow rebuilding process has been humbling, it’s also given me an incredible opportunity to step back and rethink everything from the ground up.
I’ve spent a lot of time researching how YouTube actually works now — the algorithms, the search optimization, the content strategies that help small channels grow versus the ones that keep you spinning your wheels. I’ve studied what makes channels succeed long-term, how to create content that YouTube actively wants to promote, and how to build a brand that feels authentic to who I am while reaching the people who genuinely need what I have to offer.
What’s the new direction?
My content will still cover the topics you love — faith, current events, science and technology, and homesteading — but I’m unifying everything under one clear brand identity. Think of it as: eyes open, hands dirty. Every video I make will either open your eyes to something that matters or put something useful in your hands.
Here’s what that looks like in practice. My faith content will dig into scripture with real context and practical wisdom for everyday life. My current events coverage will focus on sourced analysis rather than hype — helping you understand what’s actually happening and why it matters. My science and technology videos will break down complex topics in plain language using published research, including the ethical and spiritual questions these technologies raise. And my homesteading content will be hands-on, practical, and search-optimized so that people looking for real answers can actually find it.
I’m also putting a lot more intention into the visual side — consistent thumbnails, a clear color system for each content category, and a polished look that helps the channel feel professional and trustworthy from the first glance.
So where did all my videos go?
Here’s the important part. As part of this rebrand, I’m setting my existing YouTube videos to “Hidden” status on the channel. If you hop over to YouTube and it looks like everything has disappeared — don’t worry! Nothing is deleted.
All of my videos will remain fully accessible right here on this blog. You can still watch every single one. I’m simply cleaning up the YouTube channel so that as I roll out new content under the refreshed brand, everything visitors see is consistent and aligned with the new direction. A cluttered channel page with mixed branding can actually hurt growth, so this is a strategic move to give the new content the best chance of reaching new viewers.
What’s next?
I’ll be rolling out new videos using this updated approach, and I’m genuinely excited about it. The research I’ve done has shown me that the kind of content I want to make — educational, sourced, faith-grounded, and practical — is exactly what the platforms are designed to promote right now. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I’m swimming with the current instead of against it.
Thank you for sticking with me through this transition. Your support means the world, and I can’t wait to share what’s coming.
Eyes open, hands dirty — let’s go.
