UFO Secrets Whistleblower Found Dead Before Testimony
A former U.S. Air Force intelligence officer who was preparing to blow the whistle about alleged UFO secrets was found dead before he could testify before Congress, prompting a Republican congressman to demand a federal investigation into the “suspicious” circumstances surrounding the whistleblower’s sudden death.
Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO) has formally requested that FBI Director Kash Patel open an inquiry into the death of Matthew James Sullivan.
The 39-year-old Air Force veteran died on May 12, 2024.
According to reports, Sullivan had been scheduled to testify as a whistleblower in connection with congressional investigations into whether the U.S. government has concealed evidence related to UFOs, or unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP).
Death Raises Questions as Details Remain Unclear
Sullivan’s official cause of death has not been publicly disclosed.
Initial reports described the death as a suicide, but the cause has never been confirmed.
The case has remained under the jurisdiction of a local medical examiner rather than federal investigators.
Burlison said he has “grave concerns” about the case and notes that the circumstances warrant further scrutiny.
In a letter to FBI Director Patel, Burlison wrote:
“The sudden and suspicious circumstances surrounding his death raise significant concerns about potential foul play and the safety of other individuals involved in this matter.”
The lack of public details surrounding Sullivan’s death has intensified calls for transparency as questions remain unanswered.
High-Level Intelligence Background Fuels Concerns
Sullivan held senior roles within the national security apparatus, including serving as deputy director at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center and working with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
Burlison pointed to Sullivan’s access to classified information as a key factor in his concern.
“Look at Matthew Sullivan’s credentials and his experience,” Burlison said.
“He certainly was someone who was read in at the highest classification levels and knew some of our nation’s most important secrets.”
“And so did a lot of these other people,” he added, referencing a broader pattern of similar cases.
As Slay News has previously reported, at least 11 deaths or disappearances since 2022 have involved individuals connected to aerospace, intelligence, or classified government programs.
Connection to Whistleblower Efforts Deepens Scrutiny
The case is also linked to retired Air Force officer David Grusch.
Grusch previously testified before Congress regarding alleged secret UFO programs.
Burlison confirmed that Grusch had been in contact with Sullivan prior to his death and was assisting him in coming forward.
“Grusch was helping him come forward as a whistleblower,” Burlison said.
Sullivan had reportedly been scheduled to provide testimony to the UAP Task Force, though the details of what he intended to disclose remain unknown.
Lawmakers Push for Broader Investigation
Burlison is working with House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) to pursue further investigation into multiple cases involving individuals tied to sensitive government programs.
According to reports, lawmakers are preparing additional requests for federal action, citing concerns that the pattern of deaths and disappearances may require deeper examination.
The FBI has not confirmed whether it is investigating Sullivan’s death.
However, the White House has confirmed that the FBI is investigating the related cases.
Whistleblower Climate Raises Alarms
Burlison also warned of a broader climate of fear among potential whistleblowers, suggesting some individuals believe going public is necessary for their safety.
“There’s some that came forward, that have come forward to try to be public just to avoid any kind of foul play,” Burlison said.
“In a lot of ways, going public can be a protection in and of itself,” he added.
Key Questions Remain Unanswered
Sullivan’s death leaves critical questions unresolved, including the cause of death and the information he intended to share with Congress.
No new whistleblower hearings on UFO-related matters have been scheduled, and authorities have not released additional details about the case.
As pressure builds for answers, lawmakers argue the situation demands more than a limited local review.
With a whistleblower dead before testifying and a growing list of similar cases, the push for accountability is intensifying as questions mount over what federal agencies know, and what they are not saying.
