The UK government is considering a mandatory digital ID for all citizens and legal residents in the UK.  And the NHS has plans to sequence and store the DNA of all babies born in England.  We are fast approaching a dystopian digital surveillance state, similar to what China’s communist government has implemented.

Beware BritCard

The UK government is considering a proposal for a mandatory digital ID, known as the “BritCard,” which would require the entire population to download it and connect their birth records to the “One Login” system.

The BritCard scheme was proposed by the “think tank” Labour Together. Labour Together’s team is made up largely of former Labour MPs, former local government politicians, former civil servants and former politicians’ assistants.  It is influential within the Labour Party and, currently, the Labour government under Keir Starmer.

Labour Together claims that, according to a poll they had conducted, 80% of Britons would support a digital identity card.  We would like to know who they polled – their office staff?

“For a progressive society to work, it needs to be able to collectively agree who is allowed to join it. Because it will exclude those who cannot join it, it needs to give its members proof that they belong,” Labour Together said.  “Progressive” doesn’t mean that society is improving or people’s lives are going to improve; it means that society is progressing towards the Globalists’ aims of totalitarianism.

A few sentences later, making the case for a mandatory digital ID for all adults, except illegal immigrants, Labour Together said, “By introducing a mandatory, universal, national identity credential – BritCard … It could end identity exclusion.”  Thus, they demonstrate that they spew out buzzwords and nonsense in the hopes of sounding convincing, that the money and time spent preparing their proposal have been well spent.

“The Government should announce as early as possible in Summer 2025 its intention to explore introducing a digital right-to-work and right-to-rent credential, as part of its plan to tackle illegal migration,” Labour Together demands.  We don’t for a moment believe that this initiative is to “tackle illegal migration.”

The “think tank” then lists what the Government “should also” do, including “rebrand the Gov.UK App and Gov.UK Wallet as the ‘BritCard app’.”  Labour Together seems to have forgotten that the Government answers to the public, and not to Labour “think tanks.”

Meanwhile, the Bank of England and HM Treasury are currently in the design phase for a potential digital pound, the UK’s central bank digital currency (“CBDC”), with an Academic Advisory Group supporting the process.  In January 2025, the Bank of England announced plans for a “Digital Pound Lab” to enable “hands-on experimentation” as part of its preparation for a potential CBDC. The Bank of England continues to assert that a final decision is yet to be made on whether to launch a digital pound and that a vote in Parliament is required before any launch.

However, WEFphile Keir Starmer is ignoring the public’s will, as demonstrated in the results of the 2016 referendum to exit the European Union (“EU”), and is making moves to re-incorporate the UK into the EU, beginning with his “Brexit reset trade deal” talks and the defence pact Starmer signed with the EU last month.  Last year, Andrew Bridgen warned that this pact will give the unelected European Commission full control of the British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, MI5, MI6, GCHQ, and access to the Five Eyes and our local police forces.

So, Britons should be concerned that the EU is currently threatening citizens of member countries with the launch of a CDBC in October.

Big Brother Watch has started a campaign to make the public aware, or rather beware, of the BritCard. “The UK is entering a new era of digital authoritarianism,” Big Brother Watch says. “Keir Starmer is considering a mandatory digital ID scheme called BritCard, that will make us all reliant on a digital pass to go about our daily lives.”

Big Brother Watch has launched a petition urging Starmer to reject the new plan, and will be submitting evidence to the parliamentary inquiry into “harnessing the potential of new digital forms of identification.”

NHS Plans to Sequence and Store All Babies’ DNA at Birth

Aaron Kheriaty is a medical doctor, psychiatrist and author of ‘The New Abnormal: The Rise of the Biomedical Security State’.  In 2023, he gave a speech at the Mises Institute Medical Freedom Summit.  He explained that the covid pandemic marked the rise of the “biomedical security state,” a new paradigm of governance and population control.

The origins of this biomedical state can be traced back to a 1989 public health conference sponsored by Anthony Fauci, which introduced the concept of biosecurity threats and shifted the focus from combating pathogens to managing human populations.

One key initiative in the UK’s biomedical security state is the UK Biological Security Strategy.  A policy paper published in 2023 outlined a comprehensive approach to biological security, including the development of advanced surveillance systems to detect and respond to biological threats.  This strategy emphasises the importance of a “One Health” approach, integrating environmental, plant, animal and human health surveillance.  The Biological Security Strategy also highlights the need for improved situational awareness and surveillance of high-consequence biological threats, leveraging data, expert insight and analytical tools to detect threats early.

Now in 2025,  “every newborn baby in England will have their DNA mapped under an NHS revolution,” The Telegraph reported on Friday.  The excuse they are using to implement this dystopian plan is “to predict and prevent disease.”

The move is part of a 10-year health plan, due to be published early in July, which will have personalised medicine at its heart, The Telegraph said.  This “health plan” is going to cost the taxpayers money.  The recent Spending Review delivered a £29 billion real terms increase for the healthcare system to 2029.

We, the taxpayers, are funding the NHS to collect our babies’ genomic data and enable them to control their lives at the most basic level, their DNA, possibly selling the data to interested parties along the way.  Additionally, hackers will find the NHS database a rich source of income.

Does it sound as if we are exaggerating or letting our imagination runaway?  Then you have missed the advertisements for HSBC’s “Your DNA Will Be Your Data” campaign.  For example, a billboard at London Gatwick Airport:

HSBC has explored the use of biometric data for security purposes, such as fingerprint and voice recognition, which are forms of biometric authentication.  Additionally, HSBC has partnered with companies like Prenetics to “offer DNA screening to give health insights,” which is part of their insurance services.

The Perfect Police State

Former Economist investigative journalist Geoffrey Cain published his book ‘The Perfect Police State: An Undercover Odyssey into China’s Terrifying Surveillance Dystopia of the Future’ in 2021.  It is based on his experiences in China and provides an in-depth investigation into the surveillance and control mechanisms in the Xinjiang region.

The book presents a critical view of the Chinese government’s actions, describing them as part of a broader technological and social experiment that has led to a pervasive system of surveillance and control – “the definitive police state.” Cain also discusses the role of global technology companies in facilitating this surveillance state.

The book highlights the systematic destruction of social trust, where people are encouraged to betray one another, leading to a society where friends, colleagues, teachers and even family members turn against each other.

Cain’s account is supported by first-hand testimony from people affected by these policies, as well as from exiles, providing a comprehensive look at the situation in Xinjiang.

As Simon Gregory noted, “[Cain’s book] powerfully reveals where all this [your DNA will be your data] is heading.”
