Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak was a frequent guest of Jeffrey Epstein, a financial beneficiary of the convicted sex offender, and a reported Mossad-linked confidant. Now he is connected to the Flock Safety cameras appearing in cities and towns across America.

Just a Flock camera in the middle of a golf course with zero traffic….

This is the Flock Condor Camera.

In March 2025, Flock Safety raised $275 million in a funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), valuing the surveillance company at $7.5 billion. Flock has now raised over $950 million total and crossed $300 million in annual recurring revenue.

But here’s what they’re not telling you.

Andreessen Horowitz is also backing Toka—an Israeli cyber-intelligence firm co-founded by Ehud Barak, Israel’s former PM and Epstein handler.

Toka is not a surveillance company. Toka is a hacking company. According to a 2022 Haaretz investigation, Toka’s tools allow government clients to locate networked cameras in a target area, hack into them, watch live feeds, and alter or erase both live and recorded footage—without leaving forensic traces.

“Discover, Hack, Alter”

Toka’s business model is simple. Its core capabilities are listed as “Discover, Hack, and Alter” . The company’s technology can locate security cameras and even webcams within a given range, infiltrate them, watch their feeds, and change both real-time video and past recordings.

Imagine the implications. Your alibi? Deleted. The footage that proves your innocence? Altered. And no one would ever know.

The A16z Pipeline

The connection runs deeper than money. Since 2024, Andreessen Horowitz has pivoted aggressively toward the Israeli market, hosting exclusive Tel Aviv events designed to recruit graduates from elite Israeli intelligence units—specifically Unit 8200 and Unit 81 . These units are taxpayer-funded incubators for startups that are later capitalized by a16z.

This isn’t speculation. TechCrunch reported that Toka is actively hiring a “Client Director USA” to support “new business growth within the US government market,” specifically targeting the Department of Defense and national security agencies . They’re also hiring a customer success engineer experienced with federal law enforcement.

Toka Targets U.S. Law Enforcement

Toka has publicly stated it only sells to “militaries, homeland security organizations, intelligence, and law enforcement agencies in the United States and its closest allies”.

The company is listed as attending conferences in the UAE and has hired a vice president of international sales who previously worked for Cellebrite, another controversial Israeli cyber firm . In 2021, Toka was in talks with U.S. Special Operations Command and an unnamed U.S. intelligence agency.

The same venture capital firm that controls America’s largest police camera network is funding the company that can hack into them.

The Nightmare Scenario

Flock places 100,000 cameras across America, available to 5,000 law enforcement agencies . Toka can hack into cameras, alter footage, and erase evidence.

Two companies. One investor. Zero oversight.

A license plate reader on a golf course makes no sense. A people tracker on a golf course makes perfect sense—if you’re building a mass surveillance state. And when the footage can be altered? That’s not surveillance. That’s control.

As one report put it: “You could be arrested based on video that never happened.”

There is an epidemic in this country, and no, it’s not obesity or heart disease. It’s mass surveillance of American citizens happening in real time, all under the guise of safety. And one of the ways this is spreading across the United States at a rapid pace is through cameras mounted on just about every street corner, called “flocking cameras” or “flock cameras.” Where do they come from? Who’s behind them? Why are Americans who don’t want them being labeled terrorists?

A Chinese cybersecurity expert has revealed to DW details of China’s new high-tech policing. From ski resort facial recognition to seats on a train, the system can track anyone and compile a “holistic profile.”

When a cybersecurity researcher known by the pseudonym NetAskari recently clicked on a tab labeled “Inquiry for journalist files” on an unsecured Chinese web dashboard, he expected to see a jumble of auto-generated mock data.

Instead, familiar faces popped up on the screen. It was a comprehensive database of almost every foreign journalist based in Beijing around 2021, including official passport photos taken at the entry/exit bureau, private cellphone numbers, visa details and dates of birth. He also found his own exact personal information lying dormant on this Chinese police watch list.

“It was more interesting than shocking,” NetAskari told DW. “When you work as a journalist in China, you basically assume you are always on their radar. But what surprised me was simply how easy it was to access this highly sensitive system.”

In this podcast, we break down how major corporations like Walmart are rolling out digital shelf labels nationwide while retailers such as Home Depot and Lowe’s are reportedly implementing license plate reader technology tied to AI surveillance systems. What is being presented as “convenience,” “efficiency,” and “security” may actually be preparing the infrastructure for a future system of total control.

We examine how this growing digital ecosystem mirrors the prophetic warnings found in Scripture concerning a future Beast System where buying, selling, tracking, and compliance become deeply interconnected. The normalization of surveillance, automation, biometric technology, and centralized commerce is transforming society at a pace few could have imagined just a decade ago.

Are we witnessing the early framework of a system that will eventually control commerce and human behavior on a global scale? And how close are we to a world where privacy becomes obsolete?

The presence of Palantir and Dataminr at the new U.S. military compound in Israel offers a glimpse of how tech companies are cashing in on the genocide.

Since mid-October, some 200 U.S. military personnel have been working out of a sprawling warehouse in southern Israel, around 20 kilometers from the northern tip of the Gaza Strip. The Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) was ostensibly set up to facilitate the implementation of President Donald Trump’s 20-point “peace plan” — whose stated aims are to “disarm Hamas,” “rebuild Gaza,” and lay the groundwork for “Palestinian self-determination and statehood” — which last week received the endorsement of the UN Security Council.

Yet while no Palestinian bodies have been involved in the conversations surrounding Gaza’s future, at least two private U.S. surveillance firms have found their way into the White House’s post-war designs for the Strip.

According to a seating chart seen by +972 Magazine, a “Maven Field Service Representative” has been present at the CMCC. Built by the U.S. tech company Palantir, whose logo was visible in presentations given inside the Center, Maven collects and analyses surveillance data taken from warzones to speed-up U.S. military operations, including lethal airstrikes. The platform sucks information from satellites, spy planes, drones, intercepted telecommunications, and the internet, and “packages it into a common, searchable app for commanders and support groups,” according to U.S. defense outlets.

The U.S. military calls Maven its “AI-powered battlefield platform.” It has already been deployed to guide U.S. airstrikes across the Middle East, including in Yemen, Syria, and Iraq. Palantir has marketed its technology as shortening the process of identifying and bombing military targets — what the company’s CTO recently described as “optimizing the kill chain.” Over the summer, Palantir scored a $10 billion contract to update and refine the Maven platform for U.S. armed forces.

Palantir has also worked closely with Israel’s military since January 2024, when the two parties entered into a “strategic partnership” for “war related missions.” The company has been aggressively recruiting employees to staff its Tel Aviv office, which first opened in 2015 and has expanded significantly over the last two years. Justifying its stalwart commitment to Israel in spite of mounting charges of war crimes and genocide, Palantir CEO Alex Karp recently said his company was the first to be “completely anti-woke.”

In addition to Palantir’s Maven, the name of another U.S.-based surveillance firm showed up in recent presentations at the CMCC: Dataminr. The artificial intelligence start-up leverages close ties to social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) to allow states and corporations to monitor internet users: “Real-time event, threat, and risk intelligence” is how the company advertises its services.

Dataminr got its start in the mid-2010s by offering the FBI access to the entire output of Twitter’s userbase to surveil and alert law enforcement of “criminal and terrorist activities.” Though sold as a tool to monitor violent incidents across major cities in real time, the company offered law enforcement and governments the ability to surveil any social media user’s “past digital activity” and “discover an individual’s interconnectivity and interactions with others on social media.” Twitter referred to Dataminr at the time as an “official partner” and owned a 5 percent stake in the company. The CIA’s venture capital fund, In-Q-Tel, was also an early investor.

In the decade since, Dataminr has worked closely with the U.S. military and law enforcement agencies across the country. During the first Trump administration, Dataminr partnered with local police forces to track Black Lives Matter protests, while under President Joe Biden, the U.S. Marshals used the firm’s services to monitor activists protesting the rollback of abortion protections. And this March, the Los Angeles Police Department used Dataminr to surveil protestors calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and to flag pro-Palestinian speech online.

The presence of Palantir and Dataminr at the CMCC suggests that despite vague mention of Palestinian self-determination in Trump’s plan, Israel’s control over Gaza will remain deeply entrenched — with AI-powered surveillance and weapons systems at the center of post-war security architecture.

For Palestinians on the ground, the first six weeks of the so-called ceasefire offer a window into what’s in store. U.S. military officials at the sprawling CMCC are monitoring Israeli troops in real time. Yet according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, Israeli soldiers have killed more than 340 Palestinians since the agreement took effect on Oct. 10 — some crushed in airstrikes and others shot by Israeli troops for approaching the “Yellow Line,” the fluctuating perimeter of the 58 percent of the Strip still under direct Israeli occupation.

“There isn’t much difference from the period before the ceasefire,” Mohammed Saqr, director of nursing at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, told The Guardian earlier this week. “Unfortunately, the bombing is still going on.”

AI-driven surveillance regime

As part of Trump’s plan, the United States will oversee the creation of an International Stabilization Force (ISF) composed of soldiers from various unnamed countries. The use of Palantir’s Maven system and Dataminr’s platforms will provide the United States and the ISF with capabilities comparable to key elements in Israel’s arsenal.

Maven mirrors the AI-assisted targeting systems Israel has relied on to guide airstrikes and operations on the ground across Gaza since the war began. Dataminr’s AI-powered social media scraping tools resemble the platforms Israel’s intelligence agencies have deployed to monitor Palestinian internet users for the last decade. And given the United States’ history of sharing and bolstering Israeli surveillance efforts across the Palestinian territories, it is unlikely the data compiled by Palantir and Dataminr will remain under Washington’s exclusive purview.

In 2013, American whistleblower Edward Snowden released a cache of documents revealing how the NSA transferred raw intelligence to Israeli intelligence units, including “unevaluated and unminimized transcripts, gists, facsimiles, telex, voice, and Digital Network Intelligence metadata and content” regarding Palestinian civilians. Under the first Trump administration, the two intelligence agencies operated “in virtual lock step” across the Middle East, according to the New York Times.

That collaboration has only deepened since October 7, with the United States sharing massive amounts of its own intelligence on Hamas activity in Gaza with Israeli forces — including “drone footage, satellite imagery, communications intercepts and [AI-powered] data analysis.” These intrusive surveillance measures are posed to continue under Trump’s peace plan, as U.S.-manufactured technologies like Maven will scale up the ability of U.S.-backed forces to conduct surveillance and reconnaissance across the Strip.

<img decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-188700 wraped" title="U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio visits the U.S. Military’s Civil-Military Coordination Center, in Kiryat Gat, southern Israel, October 24, 2025.

Beyond facilitating intelligence cooperation, Palantir and Dataminr may also play a role in U.S.-Israeli security coordination in Gaza. Indeed, key among the Trump plan’s recommendations is the mass transfer of Palestinians from the areas of Gaza under Hamas control into compounds inside the Israeli-occupied enclaves, and collaborating with Israeli troops and intelligence agencies to manage them.

These “Alternative Safe Communities” would house approximately 25,000 Gazans, according to reports. Each enclave would be surrounded by patrol roads, fences, surveillance cameras, and military outposts managed by the ISF, which would coordinate with Israeli forces to determine who enters each compound — and once admitted, Israeli officials have proposed, Palestinians should not be able to leave.

Israel is further seeking that entry be contingent upon approval by the Shin Bet (Israel’s internal security agency), and the main criteria will be whether a person or their relatives have ties to Hamas, according to one Israeli official quoted in The Atlantic. But because Hamas has governed Gaza since 2007, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have ties to the organization by virtue of working in the public sector, whether in healthcare, education, or policing.

Israel has already relied on an AI-assisted surveillance tool called Lavender to identify all known and alleged Hamas affiliates as targets for assassination, including public sector workers like police officers, as previously reported by +972 Magazine. Lavender uses predictive analytics to rank Palestinians’ likelihood of being connected to Hamas and other militant groups, based on an opaque set of criteria. The new plans give Israeli intelligence agencies the incentive to continue amassing this information, and U.S. firms and platforms could further bolster these efforts.

Maven and Dataminr will allow U.S.-managed forces to carry out surveillance on behalf of Israeli authorities, within and beyond internationally controlled compounds. The firms’ products can map connections between civilians and militant groups, compile lists of those to be detained or killed in military operations, and monitor the movement and communications of Palestinians en-masse. The use of similar technologies by Israeli forces over the last two years has turned Gaza into a site of unremitting horror, accentuated by endless aerial bombardment and dragnet surveillance.

A new occupation model

A bullet point in Trump’s plan that has garnered the ire of Israel’s ultra-right-wing government is the vague promise to phase out the Israeli military’s control of the Gaza Strip and facilitate the establishment of a Palestinian state. Yet this should be treated with skepticism, not only because of the absence of any real commitment to achieve Palestinian self-determination, but also because past plans that ostensibly aimed to bolster Palestinian sovereignty have only sharpened Israel’s domination over the occupied territories.

The Oslo Accords of the 1990s enshrined Israeli control of Palestinian telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring Israel’s intelligence units have almost limitless surveillance powers over the West Bank and Gaza. Israel’s “disengagement” from Gaza in 2005 allowed the Israeli military to maintain control via aerial surveillance and a policy of targeted assassinations — what Air Force officials at the time called an “aerially enforced occupation.”

Officials at the CMCC are now hashing out yet another paradigm of Israeli control over Gaza, and this one may outsource the work to U.S. military forces and their partners in the private sector. It is a mutually beneficial relationship: Companies like Palantir and Dataminr are eager to amass data and refine new military technologies with real-world testing. Israel’s military is keen to offload the work of aerial and ground occupation from its run-down and dwindling supply of reservists, all the while maintaining control of broad swaths of the Strip through intelligence sharing and security coordination.

For the last decade, and certainly since October 7, U.S.-based firms like Palantir and Dataminr, alongside Microsoft, Google, and Amazon, have seized on the catastrophe of war as an opportunity for capital investment and growth. Israel’s unchecked power over Gaza converted it into the ideal incubator for an increasingly militarized AI industry. The unprecedented scale of destruction Israel inflicted over the last two years hinged in no small part on the steady supply of weaponry and computing power from the U.S. and its tech titans.

It is clear that this innovative ethos remains despite the ceasefire; U.S. officials describe the CMCC as a “chaotic start-up.” Meanwhile, the military tech industry’s corporate interests — namely, unfettered data extraction and lethal experimentation — will be permanently etched into the region’s political reality.

The problem is not just that we’re being tracked more than ever; it’s that everyone is actively paying for the surveillance. Video doorbell ownership in the US rose from 4% to over a 35% between 2017 and 2024. Smart TVs – which track and sell your viewing analytics – are now in 86% of homes, up from 47% a couple of years ago. 75% of cars shipped in 2024 were embedded with cellular modems, permanently streaming live data about drivers and passengers. The average online household in the US has a staggering 17 connected devices. And the data-broker market – the industry buying and selling your personal information – will soon reach $500 billion annually.

We have more eyes on us than at any point in history, more people analysing our every move, and a lot of questionable legality about it all. Here’s how your connected devices are creating a whole new industry worth hundreds of billions of dollars.

Phones: The Master Sensors

It’s no secret that phones are the masters of personal surveillance. Your phone tracks your precise location, frequent destinations, pairs with Bluetooth beacons and wi-fi networks, and tracks every tap and swipe. It feels every movement you make in your waking life, and even tracks your sleeping habits. The market for all this information is enormous, but not always legal.

The Federal Trade Commission sued data broker Kochava for selling location trails tied to visits to clinics and places of worship, with information farmed from “hundreds of millions of mobile devices”. In 2022 and 2023, Google was ordered to pay a record-breaking multi-state settlement of almost $500 million for misleading location controls affecting up to 250 million users.

Your TV is Now Watching YOU

Most smart TVs have built-in capabilities to automatically recognise the content you watch on streaming platforms, and even on HDMI inputs. The FTC found Vizio guilty of tracking 11 million TVs without informed consent from viewers, selling the data for ad targeting – and paid a fine of $2.2 million.

Remember this is separate to the surveillance performed by streaming platforms, boxes, and applications themselves, which each collect billions of viewing hours’ worth of data too. This is your TV recognising and recording what’s projected on its screen, even if it comes from an external input like a HDMI cable.

Doorbells & Home Cameras: The Eyes on Your Street

The presence of video doorbells has increased more than ten-fold in the US in the past few years. They record faces, licence plates and all daily comings-and-goings on your property, often with audio and precise timestamps stored in the cloud. That stream can be accessed by providers, outside reviewers for “quality control”, and law enforcement if requested. Essentially, your entire family’s daily, weekly and monthly routines can be mapped by one single doorstep camera. Surveillance cameras don’t need to be installed by governments – most people are installing them voluntarily.

In 2023, the FTC charged Ring – the leading video doorbell provider – with letting employees and contractors view private videos and failing to stop hackers from taking over cameras. The settlement forced $5.6 million in refunds, data deletion, and security fixes. If you have one of these installed then two-factor authentication, short data retention settings, limited sharing, and any possible encryption should all be very high priorities.

Smart Speakers & Voice Assistants Are Listening

Speakers transcribe commands and can capture “false-wake” snippets, with transcripts and audio recordings retained for “quality control” and training purposes. Depending on how much someone uses these services, entire calendars, personal relationships, messages and private communications could all be recorded – even when it “accidentally” started listening without an active prompt. The dangers of audio surveillance should not be underestimated.

In 2023, Amazon agreed to pay $25 million after the FTC and DOJ found that its voice assistant “Alexa” not only stored children’s voice recordings and geolocation information, but also undermined and avoided deletion requests.

Robot Vacuums & Edge Gadgets Are At It Too

Automated vacuums build precise floor plans, and camera models in your home capture photos that can be stolen. Between the photos and home layouts, valuables and daily patterns can be identified by hackers or shared by internal employees. If you think this is approaching sci-fi paranoia, you should know that it’s already happening.

In 2022, Roomba units captured in-home photos and video clips which were sent to a third-party data-labelling contractor to help train its AI. Some of those contractors leaked the images to close social groups, which then spread online. Footage included sensitive moments inside private homes – such as someone sitting on a toilet – and the leak exposed a weak point in the chain. When imagery from your home enters a third-party workflow, you’re suddenly relying on multiple organisations’ security and ethics.

Eufy – a home camera provider – experienced a server update error that briefly allowed users to see other customers’ surveillance camera feeds. They were also found guilty of uploading images and thumbnails to the cloud and public URLs even when users selected local-only storage options. Streams and images could be fetched via unprotected URLs, raising concerns about access without proper authorisation.

Cars Record Much More Than You Think

Three quarters of all cars sold in 2024 were capable of collecting and sharing enormous amounts of data about its drivers and passengers. Logging routes, speed and braking, paired-phone data, and even cabin imagery, they are able to share everything they track to data brokers and insurance providers. Many owners don’t expect a car to perform such expansive surveillance on them, but they monitor more than you think.

Recently, Texas sued GM for selling driving data to insurers without consent, Tesla employees were found to privately share sensitive customer camera footage, and the FTC later barred GM from selling driver geolocation data for five years.

We recently covered a deeper dive into the information cars store on drivers, which you can read here: Your Car Tracks a LOT More Than You Think – The Exposé

So, Why Do People Keep Saying Yes to Surveillance?

Most of this monitoring comes paired with features people do actually want. They buy smart doorbells for delivery alerts, accept TV recommendations and use streaming services for their favourite shows, use voice commands to stay organised, and connect to their cars for live traffic updates and remote start capabilities.

These are each small conveniences that are traded for a high premium: their privacy. The result is a persistent, ever-growing trail of where you live, when you leave, where you go, what you watch, who is at your door or in your car, and how you make decisions. That trail generates billions of dollars for data brokers, ad networks, and pricing engines – and most people don’t even know it’s happening.

How to Reduce Your Trail

Phone: limit location access in device settings

TV: turn off ACR or viewing data, check again after updates

Cameras: use two-factor authentication, enable short retention, limit shared users

Speakers: opt out of human review and delete voice history

Car: reduce analytics, restrict trip history, delete the companion app, and factory-reset before servicing or selling

If you want to know what information you’ve given out, you have legal rights in the UK, EU and several US states. You’re able to request access or deletion of stored information from any vendor or service, although it’s not made quick or easy to get it. Ask providers or sellers directly about what data is ingested by the car or device. Remove any unnecessary tracking settings, which are often turned on by default, and revoke background permissions from all applications.

Final Thought

In a world where many protest against surveillance and censoring, a shocking majority is voluntarily opting in for it. For minor convenience boosts, people are increasingly buying devices that invade not just their own privacy, but anyone else in their home or car too. Make sure to familiarise yourself with what data you are sacrificing, and consider whether the benefits are worth the privacy sacrifice.
