Canadian Government to Mandate Euthanasia for All Mentally Ill Children

The Canadian government is considering plans to mandate euthanasia for mentally ill patients – including children – marking a chilling escalation in the country’s already controversial “assisted suicide” regime.

Eugenics advocate Jocelyn Downie, a longtime lobbyist for the euthanasia industry and professor emerita at Dalhousie University, made the case during testimony before Canada’s Special Joint Committee on Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD). Downie is demanding that the government approve euthanasia for mentally ill individuals in order to supposedly “help” them.

Lifenews.com reports: Downie threatened the committee by stating:

“What will happen, if there is an extension or an exclusion, is that people will die by suicide”

Downie is saying that the answer to suicidal ideation is suicide and people will die by suicide if they do not have access to euthanasia.

The threat that people who are denied euthanasia will die by suicide is a pressure tactic that is not true.

The Supreme Court of Canada accepted the suicide argument in Carter when it struck down Canada’s laws that protected people from being killed by euthanasia, but the Supreme Court was wrong.

If the premise that people will die by suicide if euthanasia is not available to them is correct then Canada’s suicide rate should have gone down after euthanasia became an option for people who are not terminally ill.

But Canada’s suicide rate has increased.

According to the Government of Canada suicide mortality statistics, there were 3,978 recorded suicide deaths in Canada in 2016, the year that Canada legalized euthanasia. In 2021, the year that Canada expanded the euthanasia law to people who are not terminally ill, there were 3,927 recorded suicide deaths. In 2023, two years after extending euthanasia to people who are not terminally ill, there were 4,735 reported suicide deaths in Canada, representing a greater than 20% increase from 2021.

I am not arguing that Canada’s increase in suicide deaths was directly related to Canada’s expansion of euthanasia, but I am saying that if Jocelyn Downie was correct, the suicide rate should have decreased, whereas in fact it has significantly increased.
Canada has had a massive increase in deaths by euthanasia.

Health Canada released their Sixth Annual Report on Medical Assistance in Dying in Canada on November 28, 2025 (2024 deaths) which indicated a 6.9% increase from the Fifth Annual report (2023 deaths).

The 2024 report indicates that there were 16,499 reported (MAiD) euthanasia deaths which was up by 6.9% from 15,427 in 2023.

In 2025, we know that euthanasia increased by 7.3% in Ontario and 11% increase in Alberta.

I predict that in 2025, the increase in Canadian (MAiD) euthanasia deaths was greater than 7% with the number of euthanasia deaths being approximately 17,700.

Clearly, there is no indication that the massive growth in Canadian euthanasia deaths has resulted in a lower rate of other suicides.

Suicide rates do not decrease in jurisdictions that have legalized euthanasia or assisted suicide.

In December 2020 I responded to a statement by Canadian Senator Stanley Kutcher who said:

in jurisdictions, such as Belgium and the Netherlands, where assisted death is legal, that the suicide rates have decreased. He then stated that there is no link between assisted death and the rate of suicide in jurisdictions where it is legal.

The problem with Senator Kutcher’s statement was that he was absolutely wrong.

In the article I explain that in jurisdictions that have legalized euthanasia or assisted suicide, there are no jurisdictions, that over a long period of time, have experienced a decrease in suicide deaths.

Further to that, in February 2022 bio-ethicist David Albert Jones published an article explaining that: In Europe, suicides rise after ‘right-to-die’ is legalised. Jones provided a comparison between European countries that have legalized assisted dying and those that had not legalized it and found that countries that had legalized assisted dying experienced an increase in suicide rates compared to countries that had not legalized assisted dying who generally had a lessening of the suicide rate.

In other words, Downie is using a false argument to scare monger Members of Parliament into approving euthanasia for mental illness alone. Downie uses court decisions to uphold her position but the Justices are not suicide prevention experts and in fact are wrong in their assumption that legalizing euthanasia will prevent suicide.

Minimally speaking, legalizing euthanasia does not lead to a decrease in suicide rates and the data suggests that legalizing euthanasia or assisted suicide has a suicide contagion effect leading, long term, to higher suicide rates.

Singapore Passes Law to Mandate Vaccines and Jail the Unvaccinated—Days After Bill Gates’ High-Level Visit

Something strange is happening in Singapore. Just as Bill Gates and the WHO’s Tedros Ghebreyesus wrapped up high-profile visits with the nation’s top leaders, sweeping changes were quietly pushed through the country’s legal system—changes that now make it a crime to refuse mandatory government vaccines.

Yes, you read that right. Under new amendments to Singapore’s Infectious Diseases Act (IDA), the government can force vaccinate citizens whenever they declare it necessary for public health, and citizens who decline government-ordered vaccinations can now face jail time.

First-time offenders may be imprisoned for up to six months or fined up to SGD $10,000 (USD $7,738)—or both. Repeat offenders? They’re looking at 12 months behind bars and fines as high as SGD $20,000 (USD $15,477).

Section 47 of the IDA also grants the government the power to force jab citizens if an “outbreak of an infectious disease in any area of Singapore is imminent”:

The timing of the dystopian legislation is impossible to ignore.

Bill Gates, one of the world’s most prominent vaccine advocates and the figurehead of the Gates Foundation, and Tedros Ghebreyesus, director of the World Health Organization, have just completed a two-day visit to Singapore.

During the trip, closed-door meetings were held with Singapore’s new Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, as well as Senior Ministers Lee Hsien Loong and Teo Chee Hean.

Gates also announced his foundation would open a new Asia office in Singapore—a move supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board.

That announcement was made on May 5 at the prestigious Philanthropy Asia Summit 2025, just hours before the updated laws were revealed.

While the government has not directly linked the legislation to Gates’ visit, critics are raising eyebrows at the synchronized timing. Especially given Gates’ global influence in vaccine policy and his long-standing interest in controlling infectious disease response mechanisms across national borders.

In a city-state known for strict enforcement and centralized authority, the question now looming large is: Will other countries follow suit?

As public resistance to forced medical procedures grows around the world, Singapore’s move—coinciding with Gates’ visit and expanding influence—may signal a new phase in global health governance.

And it’s raising the question many are now asking: Who’s really calling the shots?

Trump Reinstates Troops Discharged Over COVID Vaccine Mandate, Grants Full Back Pay

President Trump is taking bold action to correct a major injustice—reinstating service members who were discharged for refusing the COVID vaccine. And it doesn’t stop there. These brave men and women will also receive full back pay, ensuring they’re compensated for the hardships they endured while standing up for their rights.

Trump vowed to take the action this week because approximately 8,000 troops were “unjustly expelled from our military for objecting to the Covid vaccine mandate.”

“These heroes stood up for their rights and paid the price for it,” Trump said during a recent address. “We’re going to make this right, and we’re going to ensure no American service member is ever treated this way again.”

Trump’s executive order includes provisions to prioritize reinstatement for those who want to return to active duty.

It also directs the Pentagon to ensure that back pay is calculated based on the rank and tenure each service member held at the time of their dismissal.

Supporters of the move view it as a step toward restoring trust in the military and healing divisions caused by the mandate.

However, critics have called it a political stunt, arguing that reinstating discharged troops could create logistical and administrative challenges for an already strained military reeling from the woke policies of the Biden era.

UK Government said last year it would mandate methane-suppressing food additives for cattle

There has quite rightly been a public outcry about Arla’s trial of Bovaer, a methane-suppressing food additive. An astute Twitter user has discovered that the UK Conservative government planned to mandate such additives to comply with the Environmental Improvement Plan.

The UK Environmental Improvement Plan (“EIP”), launched by Thérèse Coffey, the then Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs’ (“Defra”), was published in January 2023. It builds on the vision set out in the 25 Year Environment Plan and incorporates new powers and duties from the Environment Act, Agriculture Act, and Fisheries Act.

The EIP aims to halt and reverse nature decline by creating and restoring at least 500,000 hectares of new wildlife habitats; launching the Species Survival Fund to create, enhance and restore habitats, protecting 30% of land and sea for nature through the Nature Recovery Network and enhanced marine protected areas.

The plan challenges councils to improve air quality more quickly and tackle key hotspots.

It also aims to enhance the environment by upgrading wastewater treatment works, restore wildlife habitats and promote “nature-friendly” farming practices and implementing Biodiversity Net Gain, requiring developers to provide 10% more or better-quality natural habitat than before development.

To increase prosperity, the plan proposes promoting sustainable agriculture and forestry practices and supporting eco-tourism and sustainable economic growth.

The plans are far-reaching. In an update “one year on” published in January 2024, Deputy Chief Executive of Natural England, the government’s adviser for the natural environment, Alan Law said, “From the depths of the North Sea to our iconic national landscapes and in the heart of our towns and cities, the EIP goals are driving Nature recovery. There’s a lot to do in four years, but we’re rising to the challenge.”

The controversial Bovaer, a methane-supressing food additive, is part of this plan.

In an October 2023 press release published under the Sunak Conservative government, Defra committed to working with industry to deliver further action to reduce methane emissions in livestock through the use of methane-suppressing feed products in England.

Defra confirmed it would work closely with industry and farmers to encourage the widespread adoption of products to reduce methane emissions in England. The move delivered on the commitment in the Environmental Improvement Plan to explore innovative ways to reduce agricultural emissions, the press release says.

And then, so that we are left in no doubt, the damning statement. Farming Minister Mark Spencer said:

“We will continue to work closely with industry to develop a mature market and mandate the use of safe and effective methane-suppressing feed products in suitable cattle systems in England as soon as feasible.”

“Safe and effective.” Where have we hear that before?
