For years, debates over hate speech laws have been framed as moral disputes about civility and protection. Increasingly, however, they are becoming legal and political battles over the limits of “free” expression in democratic societies. 

A report by the Future of Free Speech project, titled The Free Speech Recession Hits Home, argues that established democracies are experiencing measurable declines in protections for speech once considered firmly safeguarded. The report contends that restrictions once associated primarily with authoritarian regimes are now expanding across Western countries under the banner of combating hate, misinformation, and extremism. 

Hate speech laws are being broadly interpreted all over the Western world, and their continued expansion is reshaping the boundaries of lawful expression. 

The Dangerous Global Free Speech Trend

The Future of Free Speech report documents what it describes as a “recession” in expressive liberty within democratic states. According to the findings, more than half of the world’s democracies have seen a decline in protections for speech in recent years, particularly in areas related to hate speech, disinformation, and offensive expression. 

The report highlights that while Western Europe has long maintained hate speech statutes, enforcement intensity and definitional scope have broadened. In several countries, the threshold for what constitutes unlawful speech has shifted from direct incitement to broader categories such as insult, denigration, or emotional harm. 

The organization’s earlier 2020 Global Handbook on Hate Speech Laws catalogues dozens of jurisdictions with criminal penalties for speech deemed hateful, blasphemous, or defamatory, noting wide variation in definitions and enforcement standards. 

The cumulative effect, according to the researchers, is a tightening legal environment in which individuals face increasing uncertainty over what speech may trigger prosecution. 

Chile: Journalist Convicted For Highlighting an Official’s “Excessive Pay”

Chile provides a recent example of how restrictions can surface outside Europe and North America. In January 2023, journalist Felipe Soto was convicted of criminal defamation after reporting on what he described as “excessive pay” received by a public official. 

According to the Committee to Protect Journalists, Soto was found guilty under Chile’s criminal defamation laws and sentenced to a suspended jail term and fines. 

Chile is widely regarded as a functioning democracy with competitive elections and a free press tradition. Yet the use of criminal defamation statutes against a journalist for reporting on public compensation levels underscores how legal mechanisms designed to protect reputations can be deployed in ways that chill investigative reporting. 

Free speech advocates argue that civil remedies exist for reputational disputes and that criminal penalties introduce a punitive dimension that risks deterring legitimate scrutiny of public officials. 

Denmark: Blasphemy Protections Return

In 2023, Denmark introduced legislation to criminalize the “inappropriate treatment” of religious scriptures, effectively reviving protections reminiscent of the country’s former blasphemy law, which had been abolished in 2017. 

The Danish government framed the move as necessary to prevent systematic denigration of religious texts and to protect national security in the wake of Quran-burning incidents. 

Critics countered that reinstating penalties for actions involving religious texts marked a reversal in a country previously celebrated for liberal expression norms. The debate in Denmark illustrates how speech restrictions can be justified as pragmatic responses to security concerns, even in societies with strong free speech traditions. 

The Future of Free Speech report identifies similar patterns across several democracies, where speech controls expand incrementally under pressure from social unrest or diplomatic tensions. 

Canada: Expanding the Scope of “Coercive” Speech

Canada has also become a focal point in discussions about the trajectory of hate speech regulation. Proposed legislation, including Bill C-16 and more recently Bill C-9, has generated debate over the boundaries of protected expression and the scope of state authority. 

LifeSiteNews reports that proposed expansions under Bill C-16 would broaden the definition of “coercive or controlling conduct” to include certain non-violent behaviours. 

According to Member of Parliament Leslyn Lewis, the proposal “criminalizes a pattern of otherwise lawful and often common behaviour that may later be perceived as threatening by an intimate partner.” She further warned that “ordinary family interactions could be re-interpreted as criminal after the fact.” 

Examples cited include questioning a spouse about returning home late, expressing concern over alcohol consumption, disagreements over finances, or enforcing parental boundaries with children. 

Supporters of the legislation argue that expanded definitions are necessary to address coercive control in domestic abuse situations. Critics maintain that vague or retroactive interpretations risk criminalizing ordinary speech and private disputes. 

The Canadian debate reflects a broader trend identified in the Future of Free Speech report, where governments increasingly rely on categories such as hate speech, disinformation, or psychological harm to justify regulatory expansion. 

A Broader Free Speech Pattern Across Democracies

The 2020 Global Handbook on Hate Speech Laws documents that many democracies now impose criminal penalties for speech that insults groups defined by race, religion, gender identity, or sexual orientation. The authors note that while such laws aim to reduce discrimination and violence, they also create enforcement discretion that can be politically contentious. 

In parallel, governments have introduced or expanded regulations targeting “terroristic content” and “disinformation,” often granting authorities the power to remove or penalize speech deemed harmful to public order. 

The Future of Free Speech report concludes that while no single country has abandoned free expression entirely, the cumulative direction across democracies points toward increased regulation and narrower margins for controversial or unpopular speech. 

Final Thought

The debate surrounding hate speech laws is frequently presented as a tension between safeguarding vulnerable communities and preserving long-standing protections for free expression. However, the evidence compiled in recent research suggests that the legal boundaries of speech in democratic societies are evolving in measurable ways. 

Legislative changes in Denmark, criminal defamation cases in Chile, and proposed statutory expansions in Canada illustrate how governments are redefining the scope of permissible expression. In each instance, the stated objective is to address harm, discrimination, or social instability. Yet the broader consequence is a gradual recalibration of how speech is regulated within systems historically committed to robust expressive freedoms. 

Whether this trajectory represents prudent legal adaptation or a sustained contraction of liberal speech norms will depend on how narrowly these laws are drafted, how consistently they are applied, and how rigorously courts defend constitutional protections. What is beyond dispute is that the parameters of lawful expression in Western democracies are under active revision, and the long-term implications of that revision remain unsettled.

“Over 85% of rental property owners in the city of Los Angeles are independent moms and pops who, for the most part, are already struggling to pay their bills,” he told KABC-TV.

The John Christie Electric Generator, also known as the Lutec 1000, is a magnetic motor generator device developed by Australian mechanical engineer John Christie and his electrician friend Lou Brits. It was first revealed to the public in 2001 but is not yet commercially available.

The device generates electricity using a combination of electromagnets and permanent magnets.   It operates continuously using magnetic attraction and repulsion and produces 24 kilowatts of power per day.  It is a device that enables us to power our homes for free.

For climate change catastrophists, the Lutec 1000 has the potential to provide a clean, green source of virtually unlimited energy, making it an attractive solution for people and communities seeking to reduce their reliance on fossil fuels and grid electricity.  For those who cannot afford rising electricity costs perhaps it is an affordable way to keep their lights on.

In 2001, the Cairns Post published an article unveiling the magnetic motor generator to the public. The article is not available online but you can read a copy of it HERE.

Some years later, Sky News Australia aired a report on the Lutec 1000 (see the video below). We were unable to establish when the report was first aired. However, the video report stated that the two inventors had been tinkering with their machine for six years.  Six years after the unveiling would indicate Sky News Australia’s report was made in 2007.

Christie and Brits have spent the years since 2001 when they unveiled their invention seeking investors as well as developing and refining the technology to produce a mass-market commercial model that can be easily installed in any household. But as of yet, there are no commercially available John Christie Electric Generators on the market.

Some think the reason why it is not commercially available is due to the common problem of inventors not having the business acumen to make a commercial success of their invention.   Others believe, as Gahzly noted, that the two inventors’ work was “sabotaged or suppressed in order to prevent a commercial reality. Such industrial sabotage of magnetic motor devices has been going on for decades and is thought to be committed by oil-dependent industry cartels and others with vested interests in the status quo, even including national governments.”

However, some enthusiasts and pioneers have created their own versions of the device using plans and blueprints available online. These DIY versions may not be identical to the original prototype but they can still generate electricity using similar principles.

In November 2021, Thomas Hardtmuth began a website to introduce the KryonEngine which uses the same principles as the Lutec 1000 generator.  On the website, Hardmuth has made all information and design specifications freely available.

While the concept has generated significant interest and discussion, some critics have raised concerns about the feasibility of the design and the need for further prototyping and testing. However, the open-sourced nature of the project allows for community involvement and feedback, which may help refine the design and overcome any technical challenges.  You can find out more about the KryonEngine HERE. In a call to mechanical engineers worldwide, Hardmuth says:

“You are welcome to study this information, build your own prototypes, set up your own manufacturing, and start your own commercial distribution – no strings attached.”

“Free energy,” he says, “means an enormous gain in freedom and independence (and thus power) for the citizen/consumer/sovereign being.”  Hardmuth continues:

It is the reason why – throughout history – those in power have been trying to prevent Free energy (and many other revolutionary technologies) from becoming available to The People.

One tool used for this suppression have been patent and trademark offices where many thousands of patents have been held up, i.e. under “national security orders”.

The upcoming general availability of free energy devices thus continues to rely on the sovereign and independent intervention of The People.

A Free Energy Device to Erase Your Electric Bill

THE world may soon be able to buy one of the World’s most controversial yet revolutionary inventions.

The Lutec 1000 free energy machine has resurfaced after six years of steering clear of the public spotlight, having been granted patents in at least 60 countries around the world, including the US, China and India.

Engineers John Christie and Lou Brits, who have endured intense criticism after they first unveiled their invention in 2001, are now preparing to construct a prototype of their revolutionary power device they hope to market within the next two years.

The dynamic duo said they felt somewhat vindicated they had been able to land patents for their device and have had the Lutec verified by an independent engineer.

“When we first kicked off, there was a huge fuss about it and people said we’d never get patents for it,” Mr Christie said.

“They said it would never work, so we couldn’t get patents, so it’s a good thing to see now.”

The generator works as an energy amplifier, generating up to 10 times the amount of electricity it consumes.

The Lutec draws its power from a bank of batteries, with the motor turning due to powerful permanent magnets at its core being attracted and then repulsed from steel cores of fixed coils.

It does not work via perpetual motion, rather it relies on natural magnetic forces and a pulsed electrical input.

The results of the generator were verified by independent engineers from SGS Australia following a test earlier this year, which confirmed the energy output from the generator was indeed greater than its input.

Mr Christie said he and Mr Brits were currently working on a production prototype to suit the domestic market, which they hoped to produce locally.

“If we go with our plan now, there is no reason why it couldn’t be available in Australia in two years,” he said.

The engineers’ invention has drawn the ire of many people over the years, including the Australian Sceptics Society.

Mr Christie said it had been a roller-coaster ride since they debuted their invention, involving occasional death threats and rumours of their untimely demise.

“Last year I was apparently killed in a hotel in north Perth somewhere, according to the internet,” Mr Christie said. “I was really quite surprised.”

In today’s world we utilize expensive and polluting fossil fuels to run our appliances, our homes, our cars and every aspect of our modern technical lives. These systems are old, inefficient and run on resources that are allegedly scarce. However, there is more to this than we’ve been told. There are actually two types of electrical power systems, one of which we use today and the other one which has been systematically removed from our common source of knowledge.

The first type of system is known as a symmetrical or “closed” system.  In this kind of a system (such as when working in a motor) the naturally occurring electromagnetic resonance is cancelled out in every spin. This creates wasted energy in excessive heat and requires an additional energy source to run it. In simpler terms, this is why we need to burn fuel, and blow things up in order to power something using these outdated and completely inefficient systems.

But there is another kind of system  called an Asymmetrical system or an “open” system. This system allows the creation of a series of exchange of energy reaction to our inputs, based on electromagnetic resonance or electromagnetic feedback in every spin (on a motor), or in every pulse of input in a static coil. One of the first asymmetrical motors was Faraday’s ‘Homopolar Motor,’ later modified by Nikola Tesla. These systems generate their own energy and do not require fossil fuels.

So if we have an open system that allows for powering electrical appliances without the need for fossil fuels, then why don’t we know about it?  The answers lie in one of the greatest cover ups in energy industry history.

James Clerk Maxwell FRS FRSE (1831–1879) was a Scottish mathematical physicist. He was also a Christian with extensive knowledge of the bible who played a modest yet integral role in helping his church and his community. His most prominent scientific achievement was to formulate a set of equations that describe electricity, magnetism, and optics as manifestations of the same phenomenon, namely the electromagnetic field. His discoveries helped usher in the era of modern physics, laying the foundation for such fields as special relativity and quantum mechanics. In his ORIGINAL work: The Dynamical Theory of the Electromagnetic Field, Maxwell identified two separate systems, both of which were completely different from each other, the symmetrical or closed system and the asymmetrical or open system.

One year after Maxwell’s death in 1879, scientists Hendrick Lorentz financed by J.P. Morgan and Thomas Edison, mutilated Maxwell’s original work and spent the next two decades deleting all knowledge of asymmetrical systems that would not require the profitable oil industry to operate. They ‘symmetrized’ all of Maxwell’s equations, and labeled these incomplete theories as the “Laws of Physics”.

While the laws of physics do indeed apply to symmetrical closed systems of energy, there is another set of laws: The Laws of Nature, which apply to the asymmetrical systems that have been suppressed by the financial interests of the banking families for the last 130 years. This knowledge was banned from our educational system, and no physics or electrical engineering school on our planet would ever teach about asymmetrical systems. Instead, the first and second laws of thermodynamics, which depend on the consumption of profitable fossil fuels, would conveniently prevail in our public knowledge base.

The laws of physics tell us that perpetual motion is not possible, yet how does the earth rotate? The laws of aerodynamics tell us that bumblebees are incapable of flight, yet how do they fly? Conventional scientists from all over the world will make statements such as: “The claim that this is going to run permanently or indefinitely doesn’t seem to hold because the second law of thermodynamics tells us that this is not possible”.  Around the turn-of-the-century eminent British scientist Lord Kelvin said “Radio has no future, heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible, and x-rays are a hoax” – so much for conventional science!

The laws of nature contain concepts that focus on frequency, resonation, vibration, magnetics and energy. A perfect example of this can be found in the aerodynamics-law-breaking flight of the bumblebee. Ralph Ring is an innovative technician who worked with Otis T. Carr, a direct apprentice of Nikola Tesla. In his presentation at the Breakthrough Energy Movement Conference, Mr. Ring gives an amazing explanation of the flight of the bumblebee:

“Next to the larynx in the bumblebees throat, there is a tiny hollow tube that acts as a resonance cavity that accumulates frequency. When the bee starts beating its wings, it does this to accumulate frequency which bounces back and forth in the resonator cavity until it reaches the same frequency of the earth, known as the Schumann frequency. Once the bee reaches the same frequency as its surroundings it evens out into what is known as zero point. When anything reaches zero point you can then change the energy. The bee is now free from the gravitational influence around it, creates its own little magnetic bubble and hovers around. There are some lizards and hummingbirds that do the same thing.”

This is how the laws of nature work. When you can tune something to vibrate at the same frequency as the earth and reach zero point, you are freed from the frequency influence of your environment and can then change the energy into anything you want including levitation or electrical energy. Many inventors have been working with these concepts to find ways of producing energy through various devices.

Michael Faraday

Michael Faraday (1791-1867) was an English scientist who contributed to the study of electromagnetism and electrochemistry. His main discoveries include the principles underlying electromagnetic induction, diamagnetism and electrolysis.

Everyone recognized Faraday as a man of unusual character; his simplicity, modesty, and humility were deeply rooted in his Christian faith. In his scientific studies Faraday was consciously seeking to understand the beauty, symmetry, and organization of God’s creation.  His inventions of electromagnetic rotary devices formed the foundation of electric motor technology, and it was largely due to his efforts that electricity became practical for use in technology.

Michael Faraday did an experiment on December 26th, 1831, in which he co-rotated a magnet with a copper disk and measured a current output.

Even though he had done that experiment, his own law of induction tended to ignore that fact. Known for over 150 years, the operation of Faraday Homopolar generator could not be properly explained. The world later embraced Faraday’s two piece induction generator, whose drawbacks include mechanical friction and electrical losses.

Government Funded Research And Higher Education

Most of the main stream scientific research and higher education systems today are funded by government grants and corporate interests. Such funding comes with a set of rules and regulations that must be followed in order to continue to receive that funding, even if the rules are unreasonable.

Some examples:

Harold Ashburton has an honors degree in engineering from Cambridge University and is also the retired head of IBM’s European patent division. When presented with undeniable proof of a perpetual motion machine designed by John Searl he made the following statement:

“The government doesn’t know about this work because the government only knows what their advisers tell them. Their advisers get money from the government and they want to keep getting the grants so they’re not giving the advice they should from matters like this.”

Ralph Ring was a laboratory technician in a government-funded research and development laboratory in Costa Mesa, California. His job was to fire an electron through a magnetic field without deflection, and to do it the way they told him to do it. He was employed to repeat this experiment every day, which always failed, at a cost of $10,000 per day paid for by a government grant. He went home and replicated the experiment using the laws of nature and the experiment was successful. The next day he took his results to the head of the Department of Advanced Kinetics, Dr. Weinhart, who gave the following response:

“I see what you’re doing there and I do understand, but Ralph what you don’t understand is that this is a government-funded lab, and we are paid to look for answers, but not find them. Just go back to work and don’t say anything to the engineers. This is not to be talked about at all.”

Unless the political and financial structure dramatically changes, free energy devices will not be supported by any individuals, companies, or organizations that rely on government funding to operate. Before introducing new devices to any of these facilities, it is important to first identify their funding source and any associated barriers to acceptance.

London, UK – Wikileaks founder Julian Assange hopes that his self-imposed imprisonment, under threat of arrest and extradition, could finally be at an end in the aftermath of the Brexit vote.

Assange has been living in the Ecuadorian embassy in London since seeking asylum there in June 2012 after Swedish authorities sought his extradition from the U.K over an alleged sexual assault.

The U.K.’s decision to exit the European Union means the European Arrest Warrant (EAW), issued by Sweden, which in many circles is considered an American tactic meant to allow the U.S. government to extradite Assange, should be scrapped, according to Wikileaks.

The Swedish warrant stems from a 2010 accusation of sexual assault in which Assange is wanted for questioning. Assange has repeatedly denied the accusations, but refuses to be extradited to Sweden as he believes his extradition is part of a conspiracy to extradite him to the United States to face charges.

The 44-year-old Assange believes that after he is extradited to Sweden to face the charges, he will then be extradited to the U.S., where he is wanted on espionage charges over classified US documents and footage released online by his Wikileaks organization.

Assange has been in a self-imposed exile within the Ecuadorian embassy since June of 2012. This exile is a means of attempting to usurp what he perceives as an illegitimate attempt to imprison him for simply allowing the U.S. public to see what type of actions are being implemented globally at the behest of the American government and carried out in the name of the American people.

Earlier this year, the U.N. Working Group on Arbitrary Detention found that the U.K. and Sweden had violated Assange’s rights by his continued detention without charges, and called for his immediate release.

“The Working Group on Arbitrary Detention considers that the various forms of deprivation of liberty to which Julian Assange has been subjected constitute a form of arbitrary detention,” U.N. Working Group’s head, Seong-Phil Hong said.

“The Working Group maintains that the arbitrary detention of Mr. Assange should be brought to an end, that his physical integrity and freedom of movement be respected, and that he should be entitled to an enforceable right to compensation.”

While it is still unclear exactly how the separation between the EU and U.K. will be operationalized, the Brexit decision could have serious implications for the Wikileaks founder’s eventual freedom. The current arrest warrant is valid only in member states of the EU – which the U.K. will no longer be after this historic vote.
