Former British Prime Minister Liz Truss has openly accusing globalist elites of using mass migration as a weapon to weaken nation states and destroy Western civilization from within.

Her comments came as Britain endured another wave of shocking violence. In Burnley, Lancashire, a 17-year-old girl was stabbed in the neck while walking alone on a quiet residential street. Hours later, a 21-year-old man was murdered in Central Park in Chelmsford, Essex. For millions of Britons, these attacks are no longer isolated incidents but part of a disturbing pattern that politicians and media outlets refuse to confront honestly.

According to Truss, Britain has been captured by institutions driven by left-wing ideology, where officials suppress discussion of the role mass migration plays in rising crime, social fragmentation, and national decline. Rather than addressing public concerns, she argues, the political establishment is increasingly focused on silencing those who dare raise them.

On Friday afternoon, the latest horror unfolded in Burnley when a man approached a 17-year-old girl from behind and stabbed her in the back of the neck. Armed police rushed to the scene. The teenager survived and was treated in hospital for injuries that were fortunately not life-threatening. A 30-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Modernity report: Lancashire Police confirmed the attack and deployed extra patrols for community reassurance. Whle mainstream reports omitted key background details, GB News reporter Charlie Peters later stated that Lancashire Police confirmed the suspect is a British-born man of Pakistani heritage.

Video footage circulating online shows the unprovoked attack and the subsequent arrest. Public reaction has been one of fury and exhaustion at yet another random stabbing of a young girl in broad daylight.

Hours later, emergency services were called to Central Park in Chelmsford, Essex after reports of a serious assault. A 21-year-old man was found with critical injuries and pronounced dead at the scene. He had been stabbed.

Essex Police arrested three teenagers – a 14-year-old boy, a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man – all from the Chelmsford area, on suspicion of murder. They remain in custody. Detective Inspector Lydia George described it as a deeply distressing incident and confirmed no further suspects were being sought.

These cases arrive amid a documented surge in such violence that has become impossible to ignore.

In widely shared commentary, Truss argued that recent violent attacks reveal an establishment corrupted by DEI priorities that place ideology above equal treatment under the law. She stated that the response to public concern is suppression of information and attacks on those highlighting the root causes.

Truss described how left-wing politicians actively encourage immigration to undermine the basis of society and Western civilisation. She said they seek to erode the family and the nation state. When British people say they have had enough, the reaction from Starmer’s government is to arrest and jail those who express concern.

“They want to undermine the family. They want to undermine the nation state. And people in Britain are saying ‘we’ve had enough of this,’” Truss urged.

“People are absolutely livid about what’s happening in our country,” she continued, adding “Our institutions have become corrupted… by the DEI mentality, rather than focusing on everybody being treated equally under the law. Their response is to try and suppress what’s happening… and attack those who are saying ‘why are these things happening?’”

The Lancashire and Essex incidents follow closely on the heels of the horrific attack in Belfast earlier this week. There, an African migrant from Sudan named Hadi Alodid was involved in a street assault on a vulnerable local man, Stephen Ogilvie, in which the attacker attempted to saw off the victim’s head in public.

Ogilvie, described as special needs and hard of hearing, had reportedly helped the migrants move into nearby accommodation just days earlier.

A local witness stated that two migrants were involved, not one, and that a second Sudanese man remained at large. The attack triggered widespread unrest in loyalist areas, with properties linked to recent arrivals targeted. Police rescued foreign nationals from burning buildings. The victim suffered life-changing injuries and remained in hospital.

Official reports and much of the legacy media continue to downplay or omit perpetrator backgrounds in these cases, even as independent journalists and ordinary citizens document the pattern. The result is a two-tier information environment where facts about migration-linked violence are treated as dangerous while the violence itself continues.

When citizens notice the demographic reality of many perpetrators and the policy decisions that enabled their presence, the response is not honest examination but censorship and criminalisation of speech. Starmer’s government has shown particular zeal in pursuing those protesting the consequences of mass migration, while insisting that the public avert its gaze.

This is not an accident of policy. It is the predictable outcome of decades of globalist open-border ideology that prioritised abstract diversity over the concrete safety and cohesion of existing communities. The British people did not vote for this transformation. They were never asked.

Britain’s experience serves as a warning. Uncontrolled mass immigration, sold as compassion or economic necessity, has delivered neither safety nor prosperity for the native population in many areas. It has delivered parallel societies, imported crime patterns, and a political class more interested in silencing critics than protecting citizens.

The question for Britain is no longer whether the current trajectory is sustainable. It is how much more violence and cultural erosion the public will tolerate before demanding leaders who actually represent the interests of the country they govern. The facts are no longer suppressible. The people are no longer silent.

As a little known company has proposed a data center and natural gas plant in the tourism destination — known for its natural wonder and outdoor recreation — residents are left with questions, mounting concerns and few answers.

As a child, Nikki Forrester dreamed of living in a cabin in the woods surrounded by mountains, trees, water and the outdoor opportunities that came with the natural land. In 2022 — four years after earning her graduate degree and moving to Tucker County from Pittsburgh — Forrester and her partner made that dream a reality when they bought two acres of land near Davis, West Virginia to build a home.

Forrester has thrived in the small mountain town known for its mountain biking, hiking, stargazing, waterfalls and natural scenery. She and her partner moved into their new home in February. Hiking and biking trails are right outside her front door. In the winter, she said, snow piles up making the nearby mountains look like “heaven on Earth.”

It’s been quite literally a dream come true.

“I feel like I’ve never felt at home so much before. I love being in the woods. I love this community. It’s super cheesy, but this was my childhood dream and now it’s actually come true,” Forrester said. “It felt so good to set down roots here. We knew Davis was where we wanted to start our future.”

But in March, one small public notice posted in the Parsons Advocate — noticed by resident Pamela Moe, who scrambled to find answers after seeing it — changed Forrester’s assumptions about that future.

A Virginia-based company, Fundamental Data, was applying for an air permit from the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection for what it called the “Ridgeline Facility.” The company’s heavily redacted application showed plans to build an off-the-grid natural gas power plant between Thomas and Davis. That power plant will likely be designed to power an enormous data center just a mile out from Tucker County’s most populous and tourist-attracting areas.

Earlier this month, representatives for Fundamental Data — who did not respond to requests for comment on this article — told the Wall Street Journal that the facility could be “among the largest data center campuses in the world,” spanning 10,000 acres across Tucker and Grant counties if fully realized.

Now, Forrester said, she and her neighbors are in the middle of what feels like a “fight for [their] lives” as they attempt to learn more about the vague development plans and fight against “big data.”

Her images of the future — skiing on white snow, hiking through waterfalls, looking up at clear and starry nights all with one-of-a-kind mountain scenery below — now exist in the shadows of a looming natural gas plant, an industrial complex and the contaminants that could come with them. The fresh, mountain air that surrounds her home and community could be infiltrated by tons of nitrogen oxide (gases that contribute to smog), carbon monoxide, particulate matter and other volatile organic compounds, per the company’s air permit application.

“Honestly, I feel like if this happens, it will destroy this place. People come here because it’s remote, it’s small, it’s surrounded by nature. If you have a giant power plant coughing up smoke and noise pollution and light pollution, it puts all of those things in jeopardy,” Forrester said. “It would honestly make me question whether I would want to live here anymore, because I do love the landscapes here so much, but they would be fundamentally altered and, I think, irreparably harmed if this actually comes to be.”

Tucker United and a fight against the many ‘unknowns’

Since learning of the project in March, Forrester and dozens of other Tucker County residents have banned together and formed Tucker United. The residents — all volunteers — want answers from Fundamental Data or anyone else regarding details of the proposed Ridgeline facility.

But that fight hasn’t been easy. The state DEP has allowed Fundamental Data — a company with little to no information publicly available — to submit a redacted air permit application, omitting details regarding potential air pollutants that could come from the site.

According to reporting in Country Roads News, local officials were unaware of the project before reporters and members of the public brought it to their attention.

Reading the Wall Street Journal article was the first time most residents were alerted about the potential size of the planned development.

Josh Nease, who lives outside of Thomas and Davis in an unincorporated part of Tucker County, said the unknowns about the project have been the most frustrating part to grapple with.

“There’s no lack of uncertainty right now, that’s for sure,” said Nease, a sixth generation West Virginian who moved to Tucker County after spending vacations there as a child growing up in Bridgeport. “I think the unknowns here are really worrying.”

If given the chance, he would want to ask representatives of Fundamental Data the following questions: Why the lack of transparency? Why does the company want to locate in Tucker County and why not further out from the towns? And why does it feel like there’s resistance against working with the local governments and community members?

Luanne McGovern, an engineer by trade who owns property in Tucker County and who sits on the board of West Virginia Highlands Conservancy, an environmental nonprofit in the region, holds similar frustrations to Nease.

Per the permit application, the Ridgeline facility — in its currently proposed form — would use gas-fueled turbines with heat recovery steam generators. Diesel would be kept on site in three 10 million gallon storage tanks as a backup power source in case of gas line interruptions. Those tanks would be 66 feet tall and 180 feet in diameter. Leaks from pumps and valves, among other pieces of equipment, are to be expected per the application. Operations for the facility should begin by 2028.

When residents started working together to make sense of Fundamental Data’s air permit application, they asked McGovern to look it over and share her thoughts. Having worked on similar permit requests before, she knew what she was looking at: A large, natural gas power plant.

What was more notable, however, was what she was unable to view.

Pollutants were listed on the request, but only in annual caps. There was no information on water usage despite some data centers using up to 5 million gallons of drinking water a day, straining resources in communities. While the heights of the diesel storage tanks were included, she said information on the turbines wasn’t.

While the DEP asked for clarification on Fundamental Data’s redactions following an influx of public comments from concerned residents, the company said it believed the omitted information met the state’s standard for confidentiality. The DEP ended up agreeing.

Fundamental Data, through its representative Casey Chapman, provided some details to the DEP in an attempt to put the public at ease: the site “does not plan” to use water from local water systems, rivers or streams and won’t discharge wastewater into them; mountains surrounding the development should “substantially limit” its visibility from populated areas and the facility “expects” to operate at noise levels that adhere with federal regulations.

But McGovern still had questions.

“Where is the water coming from? How high are these turbines? Where will they be? If we had some answers to these questions, we could do some modeling and figure out what the potential environmental impact would be, but we don’t,” McGovern said. “We’re just completely in the dark. There’s so many unanswered questions. As an engineer, there’s huge parts of this permit that are just bad. There’s no information provided, not even a level of standard of information that you would expect.”

Nease is realistic; he understands that these are complex issues and the state — as well as his region — are attempting to find new ways to bolster the economy and, hopefully, improve West Virginia’s economic standings long term.

He sees the challenges hitting Tucker County residents every day. There’s a housing shortage and short-term rentals are driving up costs for the places that do exist, pricing out residents who can’t afford to live where they work. While tourism can bring in crowds, it’s often only seasonal. The county’s population — like most of West Virginia — is declining.

“I fully understand the need to diversify the economy. I support doing that, we talk about it all the time. I guess I’m just not sure that a project like this is the solution,” Nease said. “We just don’t know enough about it. We don’t know if this is going to benefit the Tucker County economy. I sure hope it does, but all I have to rely on for that are vague statements.”

‘It feels extractive:’ West Virginia data centers to operate with no local oversight, questionable economic gains

On March 18 — the same day that Fundamental Data submitted its air permit application to the DEP — House Bill 2014 was introduced at the state Legislature to incentivize data centers to locate in West Virginia and generate their own power sources through microgrids. Senate President Randy Smith, a Republican who represents Tucker County and voted for HB 2014, did not respond to requests for comment on this article.

Despite being a key priority for Gov. Patrick Morrisey who requested its introduction, the bill was presented more than halfway through the state’s 60-day session. In back-and-forths over several weeks, lawmakers amended the bill again and again. One change removed a requirement for microgrids to use renewable energy sources, opening the door for coal and natural gas. Several other amendments changed the tax structure for any property taxes collected on the developments.

The version of the bill that now stands as law allows “high impact data centers” to curtail local zoning ordinances and other regulatory processes and establishes a certified microgrid program, which means data centers can produce and use their own power without attaching to already existing utilities.

The law creates a specialized tax structure for data centers and microgrids, which must be placed in designated districts. Local governments have little say or control over those districts, which are established at the state level.

Taxes collected on any data centers and microgrids operating in West Virginia would be split as so: 50% will go to the personal income tax reduction fund, 30% will go to the county where the data center is located, 10% will go to the remaining 54 counties split on a per capita basis using the most recent U.S. Census, 5% will be placed in the Economic Enhancement Grant Fund administered by the Water Development Authority and the final 5% will be put in the newly created Electric Grid Stabilization and Security Fund.

Initially, those taxes were going to be completely diverted away from localities where the data centers would be located, angering county commissioners and other local leaders from throughout the state.

Kelly Allen, executive director of the West Virginia Center on Budget and Policy, said the fact that 50% of any tax revenue collected going to offset the state’s personal income tax cuts is a concern, especially while only 30% will return to localities that host the data centers.

“Local governments are really limited in the ways that they can raise revenue, which is largely controlled by either the state constitution or the state legislature. So taking away a significant slice of one of the only ways that they can raise revenue — through property taxes — leaves [localities] with fewer options to fund basic services,” Allen said. “At the same time, these data centers and micro grids are probably going to increase the need for the public services that local governments pay for.”

Allen pointed to the potential risks that come with operating power plants: county fire and police services will be needed for safety at the plants and water districts may be impacted, she said.

Essentially, she said, counties will be on the hook for funding more services while only receiving a fraction of the revenue generated by the sources of those costs.

And, generally, there’s no guarantee — despite Fundamental Data’s claims for the Tucker County facility — that data centers will serve as massive employers.

Nationwide, according to the U.S. Census, jobs in data centers are increasing. But more than 40% of all jobs in 2023 existed in just three states. Per an analysis by Business Insider, most of the data center jobs available are only in construction and contracted from outside the places the centers are located.

Data centers are largely automated. Microsoft, for example, employs just 50 people per a facility. In West Virginia — because of the inclusion of microgrids, which aren’t mandated to be created for data centers — the picture could look different. But again, the lack of details from companies coming here makes the real impact difficult if not impossible to determine.

Allen said she’s wary of the state’s potential reliance on data centers for a financial boom given the state’s history of extraction-based economics.

Like with the coal economy, residents across the state will bear the aesthetic, environmental and health costs associated with living near data centers and their power plants. Most of the profits, however, may not return to them, Allen said.

“It’s not exactly identical to coal or natural gas or timber, but it feels extractive in the same way in that the benefits of the data center are borne by people outside of West Virginia, while the costs are borne by our residents,” Allen said.

Nease said that while he wants to be “pragmatic” about the potential for development in Tucker County, he can’t help but think of the state’s history in that regard either.

“I’m worried we’re going to fall into that same trap again. It’s an age old story — not just for West Virginia. Some people are going to benefit from this project, they just might not be here,” Nease said. “The company will benefit, its [shareholders] will. But will we?”

‘A race to the bottom:’ While West Virginia lawmakers want to compete with Virginia, locals say it’s not possible

While state lawmakers spent hours this legislative session debating how to craft the state’s new law to attract data centers, several couldn’t stop thinking about — or mentioning — neighboring Virginia, where the development of large, high-impact data centers have boomed.

Echoing sentiments shared by Morrisey through his “Backyard Brawl” plan to compete with neighboring states economically, delegates — including Del. Clay Riley, R-Harrison, who sits on the House Committee on Energy and Public Works, where the bill passed — said they wanted to see data center development here thrive like it has in Northern Virginia.

Loudoun County, Virginia has been dubbed “Data Center Alley.” It’s home to the largest data center market in the world.

But that development didn’t happen overnight, said Julie Bolthouse, director of land use at Piedmont Environmental Council in Virginia.

The industry started building in Northern Virginia in the 1990s and 2000s. Some of the largest data and internet providers at the time were located there. Over time, though, the market has changed.

Bolthouse said what used to be small complexes organized like business parks — featuring restaurants, shopping, day cares and more for people who lived in the region — are now large campuses with few people, no outside amenities and mostly computers and software.

And those “hyper-scaled” complexes — in Virginia and beyond — haven’t come without costs. The pollutants emitted by large centers are known to exacerbate respiratory problems and other health conditions. Residents nearby can hear the incessant buzzing and hums of the computers and generators at work. Light pollution, depending on the size and type of facility, can be impossible to ignore.

But these issues — outside of the environmental ones — vary place to place because of local ordinances.

“That is like the only thing that’s really protecting Virginia communities, because the only way that the people who live in these localities are able to get any kind of protection is because of noise ordinances, because of the lighting ordinances,” Bolthouse said.

In West Virginia under HB 2014, residents won’t have the same protections or powers due to the state’s superseding of local ordinances.

And now, decades into Virginia’s ever changing data center sector, Bolthouse and other environmentalists are seeking more regulations on the state level since the nature of these data centers has changed so much over such a short period of time.

“That’s the push we’re seeing now — for the state to come in and add additional regulations, to look at the environmental impact,” Bolthouse said. “No one is talking about taking away the ability of localities to regulate these facilities. I can’t imagine that.”

And while the landscape for data centers is evolving in Loudoun County and beyond, the reason so many large companies have decided to locate their centers in Northern Virginia goes back to the 1990s. The infrastructure for them to be developed, Bolthouse said, already existed — it wasn’t newly created like West Virginia is attempting to do.

“There’s such a robust fiber network here. These data centers are kind of like a gigantic global computer. They talk to each other, and so the closer they are to all the other cloud providers, the better,” Bolthouse said. “When you put a data center here, your data is stored in Northern Virginia and you are in spitting distance to [Amazon], Google, Microsoft, all the big co-locators … probably every big business has an operation here in Northern Virginia. So it’s like the Wall Street of the data center industry. That’s why they want to locate here.”

Bolthouse warned that without regulations, without protections and without the advantages that Virginia has through its location and infrastructure, West Virginia could be attempting to enter a new sector by inviting in the “worst players.”

“What you’re going to get if you do it this way is the worst players, the ones that didn’t need to be in Northern Virginia … the players that are wanting that lack of regulations because they didn’t want to abide by rules and didn’t want to or need to protect communities, which is worse for West Virginia and the communities,” Bolthouse said. “What West Virginia is doing is not what Virginia is doing.”

She said West Virginia needs to look at the assets it already has, not the assets others in the sector have worked with for decades.

Those assets, in Bolthouse’s words, are the same things that made Forrester feel like her childhood dreams were coming true when she built a home in Tucker County: the state’s “beautiful mountains, its rivers, its natural beauty and outdoor opportunities.”

“That’s what West Virginia should be leveraging. The state shouldn’t be trying to get something that another state has already secured the market on,” Bolthouse said. “I don’t know that West Virginia can become the next Data Center Alley. I don’t think that’s actually feasible … You’re trying to basically have a race to the bottom, and you’re only going to get the worst players.”

A groundbreaking new study has revealed that healthy young adults suffer devastating and permanent damage to the non-renewable cells in their eyes after receiving Covid mRNA “vaccines.”

The scientists uncovered chilling evidence about the harmful effects of Pfizer’s Covid mRNA injection (BNT162b2) on the eyes.

The team of researchers, led by Dr. Fatma Sumer of the Department of Ophthalmology at Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan University Faculty of Medicine in Rize, found that the shots destroyed 8.4% of non-renewable eye cells in healthy young adults.

The alarming findings were published Wednesday in the medical journal Ophthalmic Epidemiology.

The peer-reviewed research reveals that the vaccine causes significant and potentially irreversible damage to the corneal endothelium.

The corneal endothelium is the crucial layer of cells responsible for maintaining the transparency and hydration of the eye.

Conducted by renowned researchers from two leading Turkish university hospitals, the study involved 64 healthy, Covid-naive volunteers.

Using advanced imaging technology, including Sirius corneal topography and Tomey EM-4000 specular microscopy, the team evaluated the eyes of participants before they received the “vaccine.”

They were then examined again approximately 75 days after their second dose of the Pfizer mRNA jab.

Key Findings of the Study:

• Endothelial Cell Density (ECD): The number of cells in the corneal endothelium decreased by 8.4%, from 2597 cells/mm² to 2378 cells/mm² (p < 0.001).

• Cell Variation (CV): The variation in cell shape and size increased from 39% to 42% (p < 0.001), indicating rising stress and loss of cell uniformity.

• Hexagonality (% of healthy cells): The percentage of cells retaining a normal hexagonal shape dropped from 50% to 48% (p < 0.001), a sign of dysfunction in the corneal structure.

• Central Corneal Thickness (CCT): The thickness of the cornea increased from 533 μm to 548 μm (p < 0.001), suggesting fluid imbalance and corneal edema.

Weighing in on the findings, renowned McCullough Foundation epidemiologist Nicolas Hulscher, MPH, explained the implications of these findings.

Perhaps the most disturbing part of this study is the fact that the corneal endothelium does not regenerate, Hulscher noted,

Once these cells are lost, they cannot be replaced, and the damage is considered irreversible.

Continued injury to this layer could lead to serious consequences, including blurred vision, chronic corneal swelling, or, in severe cases, blindness.

This study provides objective, measurable evidence of structural and functional eye damage occurring in young, healthy adults who have received Pfizer’s Covid mRNA “vaccine.”

The damage occurred even in participants with no prior history of eye issues.

This new data raises troubling questions about the long-term safety of the mRNA injections and the potential to cause damage to critical parts of the body, like the eyes, that many are unaware of.

However, this study is only the latest to add to the growing list of concerns about the safety and side effects of the mRNA “vaccines.”

As Slay News previously reported, a world-renowned microbiologist has also issued a chilling warning over the unprecedented damage that Covid mRNA “vaccines” have caused to the brains of people who received the injections.

Dr. Sucharit Bhakdi is sounding the alarm over the long-term damage he’s uncovered in the mRNA-vaccinated.

Bhakdi warns that the problem is so severe that there are “billions of people” whose brains have been “destroyed” by the Covid shots.

The award-winning former professor of microbiology argues that people have been permanently “altered” by the experimental injections.

“The mRNA vaccines cause the destruction of brain cells,” Dr. Bhakdi warns.

The Climate and Nature Bill has its second reading in Parliament on 24 January 2025. If it becomes law, it will bring in compulsory re-wilding of more than 30% of the UK and place controls on travel and consumption.

“You may think that all the bills that have gone through Parliament already in the last six months have been disastrous and have been an attack on our way of life our culture and our economy. But there’s something else coming up which is as bad or even worse as everything that has gone before. And this is something called the Climate and Nature Bill,” David Kurten said.

“It will destroy the economy, essentially, and it will give the Government powers over your private property …  Because of [something to do with] the climate or … nature then the government can essentially take your property,” he warned.  “Because everything that happens in the country will have to be beholden to the targets in this Climate and Nature Bill.”

Below is a summary of David Kurten’s video.  But before we get to that, a brief mention of the UK constitution.

The UK constitution is a complex system of rules and principles that govern the United Kingdom (“UK”). Unlike many other countries, the UK has no single codified constitution document.  The sources of the UK constitution are Acts of the UK Parliament, conventions, common law and authoritative works such as Albert Venn Dicey.

The UK constitution puts the people in charge and limits the powers of the Government. The legislature, being the House of Parliament and the House of Lords, are permitted to make legislation but they are subject to constitutional law.  As William Keyte explained to Richard Vodes in 2023, “Constitutional law … absolutely limits what [the Government] can do legitimately.  They could still go outside that but then they would be acting criminally.”

Magna Carta (1215), one of the sources of the UK Constitution which Keyte views as THE constitutional document, is still binding on the UK government today. Also known as the Great Charter of Freedoms (or Liberties), it established the principle that the king and government were subject to the rule of law and limited their powers.  “[Magna Carta] leaves [the people] to be self-masters, essentially, and the government to get out of the way and leave them alone,” Keyte said. “[Magna Carta] elevates the people above their own government.”

Magna Carta explicitly refers to the Spiritual Constitution and the Temporal Constitution.  The spiritual realm refers to the Christian church.   The temporal realm refers to secular or worldly matters.  The Commons refers to the people.

In the context of the English Bill of Rights, “Lords Spiritual,” “Lords Temporal,” and “Commons” refer to bishops of the Church of England who sit in the House of Lords, secular members of the House of Lords and elected representatives of the people, forming the House of Commons, respectively.

This is the meaning of the paragraph at the beginning of the Climate and Nature Bill.

Both King Charles and the Government are subject to the rule of law and the constitution. If they are found to be acting outside what the constitution permits, they are acting criminally.

Magna Carta “reserves to … all Persons, as well Spiritual as Temporal, all their [free Liberties] and free Customs, which they have had in time passed.

“And all these Customs and Liberties aforesaid, which We have granted to be holden within this our Realm, [as much as appertaineth to Us and our Heirs, we shall observe; and] all Men of this our Realm, as well Spiritual as Temporal, [as much as in them is, shall observe the same against all Persons, in like wise.”

In other words, neither the king nor the government, nor anyone else, can remove our liberties and customs that we have had for thousands of years.

The earliest surviving record of our liberties is King Alfred’s Doombook (c. 600 A.D).  It was the foundation on which Magna Carta was built. The Ten Commandments were a particularly important model for the drafting of Anglo-Saxon law codes and formed part of the preface to King Alfred’s law book, grounding the secular laws in biblical precedents. God’s law is also specifically referenced in the longest Anglo-Saxon law code, which was issued by King Cnut.

Rather than specifying what people can do, the majority of the Ten Commandments specify what people cannot do.  In short, if it is not prohibited by God then it is one of our liberties or inalienable rights.

If, through the Climate and Nature Bill, King Charles and the Government remove any of our ancient liberties or customs then the monarch and the Government are acting unconstitutionally, and criminally.

The Climate and Nature Bill: An Overview

The Climate and Nature (“CAN”) Bill, first introduced by former Green Member of Parliament (“MP”) Caroline Lucas, has been reintroduced by Liberal Democrat MP Ros Savage and is set to have its second reading in the House of Commons next Friday, 24 January.

The Bill has gained significant support from more than 190 politicians across the Commons, Lords and local councils, largely due to lobbying efforts by the non-governmental organisation Zero Hour.  (You can see a full list of MPs supporting the CAN Bill HERE and view an interactive map of MPs supporting the Bill HERE.)

The Bill builds on the existing Committee on Climate Change, established in 2008, and would give this committee more power to dictate the country’s climate strategy and targets.  It aims to require the UK to achieve climate and nature targets, giving the Secretary of State the duty to implement a strategy to achieve these targets, and establishing a climate and nature assembly to advise on the strategy.

It would also grant the government powers to take control of private property if deemed necessary for climate or nature-related reasons, potentially destroying the economy and undermining private property rights.

The ultimate goal of the bill is to achieve net zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050, with interim targets and a binding strategy to be implemented by the Secretary of State for Climate.  It requires the UK government to fulfil its obligations and commitments under the UNFCCC and the Paris Agreement, which involves cutting carbon dioxide emissions and limiting global temperature increases.

The CAN Bill aims to ensure the United Kingdom reduces its overall contribution to global greenhouse gas emissions to “Net Zero” by 2030, at a rate consistent with limiting the global mean temperature increase to 1.5° C compared to pre-industrial levels.

Its objectives are based on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (“IPPC’s”) definition of pre-industrial levels, which dates back to around 1750, a time after the medieval warm period and before the mini ice age.

Nature and Biodiversity Provisions

In addition to addressing climate change, the Bill also focuses on nature and biodiversity, with the government aiming to halt and reverse its overall contribution to the degradation and loss of nature in the UK and overseas.

The Government’s objectives include increasing the health, abundance, diversity and resilience of species populations, habitats and ecosystems, with the goal of putting nature on the path of recovery by 2030.

It references the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, which is a framework for meeting biodiversity targets and objectives. However, the bill’s measures may not effectively address the issues of nature and biodiversity, and may even exacerbate the problems.

For example, the implementation of the bill’s objectives may involve measures that could have unintended consequences, such as the destruction of habitats and the killing of birds due to the construction of wind turbines and solar panels.

The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework

The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework considers biodiversity fundamental to human well-being and a healthy planet and economic prosperity, and is being taken seriously by politicians who are introducing legislation to meet its goals.

The framework recognises and considers diverse value systems and concepts, including the rights of nature and the rights of “Mother Earth,” which is being used as the basis for a bill in the UK that would require the country to obey this framework.

2030 Agenda and Rewilding Implications

The CAN Bill is tied to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which is a way to introduce communism and take away property rights under the guise of sustainability and a climate emergency.

The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework has 23 targets, including ensuring that at least 30% of degraded terrestrial, inland water and marine and coastal ecosystems are under effective restoration by 2030. This target is about rewilding and giving the government control over land, which would be particularly destructive in densely populated countries like the UK, where over 80% of the land is used for agriculture.

The CAN Bill aims to achieve sustainability targets by 2030 and additional targets by 2050, which may be destructive to the agricultural sector.  It would give the Committee on Climate Change the power to tell the Secretary of State for Climate to requisition land and rewild it, potentially stopping agriculture on certain lands.  The implementation of this bill would be devastating to farmers, farms and agriculture in the UK, which is already under attack through inheritance tax and extra business taxes.

Impacts on Homes, Consumption and Personal Freedom

Homeowners may be required to demolish and rebuild their houses to meet energy efficiency standards, with the possibility of remote control over energy usage.

The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework’s Target 16 aims to encourage sustainable consumption choices, reduce global consumption footprint and minimise waste by 2030, which may involve legislation and regulations to enforce lower consumption.

The World Economic Forum has expressed desires to limit meat consumption, private car ownership, air travel and clothing purchases, which could lead to a loss of individual liberty and freedom.

The implementation of 15-minute cities may restrict car travel, promoting active travel like walking and cycling, and limiting access to public transport for long-distance travel.

The proposed limits on clothing purchases are an overreach, infringing on individual freedom and the free market.

The overall goal of these measures is to reduce waste and promote sustainability, but they could, and will most likely, go too far, resembling communism and restricting personal choice.

Economic and Societal Consequences

The CAN Bill will be extremely destructive to the economy and way of life, as it will give the government power to essentially destroy private property and “decarbonise” the economy by getting rid of all carbon-based energy, including imports of gas and LNG from overseas.

The bill will restrict people’s freedom to decide what to do with their own money and use the free market, and will instead allow the government to control the economy.

It will have a devastating impact on the economy, potentially leading to its collapse, and will leave people with limited options for making a living, such as growing their own vegetables and selling them.

It’s worth noting the hypocrisy of those people who are pushing for the Bill.  They will be the same people who attend climate summits and global summits and are often the most wasteful, using private jets to travel to these events four or five times a year.

We are at a crucial moment to stop the Bill from progressing through Parliament.  To stop the bill, write to your MP and ask them to vote against it on 24 January.
