British parents who try to stop their children from transitioning gender could face five years in prison and unlimited fines under provisions entailed in a new draft bill by the Labour government.

The “Conversion Practices” bill targets “abusive acts” intended to change someone’s sexual orientation or transgender identity. However, its broad wording raises serious alarms. It defines a conversion practice as any “conduct” that causes a child to “believe that they have or do not have” a particular gender identity.

The Cabinet Office said the Bill will ensure transgender children are “protected from physical and psychological abuse to change who they are”.

This opens the door to interpreting basic parental guidance—such as stating that biological sex is immutable—as a criminal offence.

How the Law Could Trap Parents

If a parent uses what authorities label “coercive words” (for example, consistently referring to their child by their biological sex or expressing concerns about medical transition), and this causes the child “serious alarm” or a “substantial adverse effect” on their daily activities, it could meet the threshold for prosecution.

The penalties are severe: imprisonment for up to five years on indictment, or an unlimited fine. This is not abstract. Activists have already signalled their intent to use such laws aggressively against anyone dissenting from gender ideology. Parents who refuse to fund puberty blockers, insist on biological pronouns at home, or seek therapy exploring underlying causes of distress (rather than immediate affirmation) could find themselves investigated by police or facing private prosecutions. 

The legislation risks turning the state into the ultimate arbiter of family life, eroding parental authority in favour of ideological compliance. Teachers, therapists, and youth workers face similar risks for failing to affirm self-identified gender.

Timing Reveals the Agenda

This bill emerges just as Britain advances renewed access to puberty blockers for children as young as 11 through clinical trials, despite the landmark Cass Review highlighting weak evidence, significant risks (including impacts on bone density, fertility, and cognitive development), and the need for extreme caution. 

The Cass Review exposed how rushed affirmation and medicalisation lacked robust support. Yet the government appears determined to reopen these pathways while simultaneously threatening legal consequences for parents who question them. This combination suggests a clear priority: prioritising transgender ideology over child safeguarding and evidence-based medicine.

A Fundamental Assault on Rights

Normal parenting—guiding children through confusion, protecting them from irreversible decisions, and grounding them in biological reality—is not “conversion” or abuse. Existing laws already criminalise genuine coercion, violence, or harm. This bill goes further, potentially making dissent from “woke gender ideology” a thought crime within the family home. 

It undermines core human rights: parental responsibility, freedom of speech, belief in biological sex as a material reality, and the protection of children from experimental medical interventions with lifelong consequences.

Critics rightly argue it hands activists a powerful tool to persecute families, schools, and professionals who refuse to play along.Britain prides itself on liberty and evidence-driven policy. This bill, paired with the push for puberty blockers, signals a troubling shift toward state-enforced ideology at the expense of children’s welfare and parental rights.

Families deserve better than to live in fear of the law for simply telling their children the truth about their bodies. Lawmakers must scrutinise this draft rigorously before it becomes another tool of overreach.

Former British Prime Minister Liz Truss has openly accusing globalist elites of using mass migration as a weapon to weaken nation states and destroy Western civilization from within.

Her comments came as Britain endured another wave of shocking violence. In Burnley, Lancashire, a 17-year-old girl was stabbed in the neck while walking alone on a quiet residential street. Hours later, a 21-year-old man was murdered in Central Park in Chelmsford, Essex. For millions of Britons, these attacks are no longer isolated incidents but part of a disturbing pattern that politicians and media outlets refuse to confront honestly.

According to Truss, Britain has been captured by institutions driven by left-wing ideology, where officials suppress discussion of the role mass migration plays in rising crime, social fragmentation, and national decline. Rather than addressing public concerns, she argues, the political establishment is increasingly focused on silencing those who dare raise them.

On Friday afternoon, the latest horror unfolded in Burnley when a man approached a 17-year-old girl from behind and stabbed her in the back of the neck. Armed police rushed to the scene. The teenager survived and was treated in hospital for injuries that were fortunately not life-threatening. A 30-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Modernity report: Lancashire Police confirmed the attack and deployed extra patrols for community reassurance. Whle mainstream reports omitted key background details, GB News reporter Charlie Peters later stated that Lancashire Police confirmed the suspect is a British-born man of Pakistani heritage.

Video footage circulating online shows the unprovoked attack and the subsequent arrest. Public reaction has been one of fury and exhaustion at yet another random stabbing of a young girl in broad daylight.

Hours later, emergency services were called to Central Park in Chelmsford, Essex after reports of a serious assault. A 21-year-old man was found with critical injuries and pronounced dead at the scene. He had been stabbed.

Essex Police arrested three teenagers – a 14-year-old boy, a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man – all from the Chelmsford area, on suspicion of murder. They remain in custody. Detective Inspector Lydia George described it as a deeply distressing incident and confirmed no further suspects were being sought.

These cases arrive amid a documented surge in such violence that has become impossible to ignore.

In widely shared commentary, Truss argued that recent violent attacks reveal an establishment corrupted by DEI priorities that place ideology above equal treatment under the law. She stated that the response to public concern is suppression of information and attacks on those highlighting the root causes.

Truss described how left-wing politicians actively encourage immigration to undermine the basis of society and Western civilisation. She said they seek to erode the family and the nation state. When British people say they have had enough, the reaction from Starmer’s government is to arrest and jail those who express concern.

“They want to undermine the family. They want to undermine the nation state. And people in Britain are saying ‘we’ve had enough of this,’” Truss urged.

“People are absolutely livid about what’s happening in our country,” she continued, adding “Our institutions have become corrupted… by the DEI mentality, rather than focusing on everybody being treated equally under the law. Their response is to try and suppress what’s happening… and attack those who are saying ‘why are these things happening?’”

The Lancashire and Essex incidents follow closely on the heels of the horrific attack in Belfast earlier this week. There, an African migrant from Sudan named Hadi Alodid was involved in a street assault on a vulnerable local man, Stephen Ogilvie, in which the attacker attempted to saw off the victim’s head in public.

Ogilvie, described as special needs and hard of hearing, had reportedly helped the migrants move into nearby accommodation just days earlier.

A local witness stated that two migrants were involved, not one, and that a second Sudanese man remained at large. The attack triggered widespread unrest in loyalist areas, with properties linked to recent arrivals targeted. Police rescued foreign nationals from burning buildings. The victim suffered life-changing injuries and remained in hospital.

Official reports and much of the legacy media continue to downplay or omit perpetrator backgrounds in these cases, even as independent journalists and ordinary citizens document the pattern. The result is a two-tier information environment where facts about migration-linked violence are treated as dangerous while the violence itself continues.

When citizens notice the demographic reality of many perpetrators and the policy decisions that enabled their presence, the response is not honest examination but censorship and criminalisation of speech. Starmer’s government has shown particular zeal in pursuing those protesting the consequences of mass migration, while insisting that the public avert its gaze.

This is not an accident of policy. It is the predictable outcome of decades of globalist open-border ideology that prioritised abstract diversity over the concrete safety and cohesion of existing communities. The British people did not vote for this transformation. They were never asked.

Britain’s experience serves as a warning. Uncontrolled mass immigration, sold as compassion or economic necessity, has delivered neither safety nor prosperity for the native population in many areas. It has delivered parallel societies, imported crime patterns, and a political class more interested in silencing critics than protecting citizens.

The question for Britain is no longer whether the current trajectory is sustainable. It is how much more violence and cultural erosion the public will tolerate before demanding leaders who actually represent the interests of the country they govern. The facts are no longer suppressible. The people are no longer silent.

King Charles has announced the British government is moving ahead with the roll out of Bill Gates’ digital ID and introducing digital ID cards in line with Agenda 2030.

A British farmer has said that the government has offered a scheme to pay farmers not to supply food for three years. This scheme is part of a larger trend where farmers are being financially incentivised by the state to reduce food production.  Why would they do that?

Last week, TrailBlazingTruths posted a video clip on TikTok of Cornish farmer Keith Andrews explaining how the UK government is incentivising farmers not to grow food.

“We’ve been offered £2,500 to join a scheme for the next three years where we don’t supply you any food,” he said.

“I’m going to plough a field.  I’m going to put spring barley in.  I’m going to get £440 off the Government, per acre. Then when it comes to crop size, leave it [to] rot in the ground.

“So, I don’t get no straw for the cattle, you don’t get nothing for your bread, for everything we make.

“I can also plant bee mix which is for birds and bees.  I can plant wild bird seed which is for wild birds.

“I can also be paid to buy a tonne of bird seed, like anybody puts in their garden for the birds, and threw it out on the ground once a week.  I can get paid for that.

“My accountant says ‘do it’.  Because in doing that, I’ve not got to buy fertiliser – which since the Ukraine war it’s gone from £250 a tonne to £1,000 a tonne, so in order to fertilise your food I’ve got to buy fertiliser at £1,000 a tonne.

“So, I’ve now got a crop that I don’t have to spray, I don’t have to send nobody out there with a tractor, I don’t have to fertilise it or I can just leave it in the ground to rot.”

We were unable to establish details for when or where Andrew’s speech was given.  However, the government incentivisation Andrews referred to has been in place for a couple of years and has been expanded and the incentives increased over time.

A scheme to pay farmers for actions they take, going beyond regulatory requirements, to manage their land in an “environmentally sustainable” way was set out by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (“Defra”) in their Agricultural Transition Plan 2021 to 2024.

Called the Sustainable Farming Incentive (“SFI”), the scheme is made up of a set of specified standards and is open to all farmers and occupiers with management control. It is one of three that make up the environmental land management (“ELM”) schemes, which replaced the European Union’s Common Agricultural Policy.

The ELM schemes have the stated aim of “support[ing] the rural economy while achieving the goals of the 25 Year Environment Plan and a commitment to net zero carbon emissions by 2050.”  This alone tells us that the schemes have dubious origins and motives.

SFI was launched by the UK government in 2022 following an earlier pilot.  In June 2023, the Government launched a “new and improved” SFI 2023 offering farmers additional actions and more flexibility to choose the actions they want to get paid for, offering more than twice as many new SFI actions as originally planned.

Incentivising farmers to plant hedgerows instead of crops, Minister of State at Defra Sir Mark Spencer said: “There’s no minimum or maximum land area or hedgerow length, so farmers can choose how much land to cover with their SFI agreement.”

In September 2023, Defra posted a blog which demonstrated that they hadn’t thought through the dire consequences of their eco-activism:

Through SFI, our aim is to support farming and farmers. We want to protect and improve the environment, food production and food security. We obviously don’t want SFI to be used in a way that comes at a cost to any of them.

We know that sometimes sparing land for a year, or 2 or 3 can make food production more resilient and can support farmers to achieve better margins from their land. Some of our SFI actions do take land out of food production for a short time, which helps farmers do this.

The evidence shows that a small number of farmers, roughly 1% of those who applied for SFI in 2023, entered 80% or more of their farm into actions that involve taking land out of food production.

While flexibility and freedom of choice are important features of SFI, we think this goes further than is necessary. And, in the context of economic volatility and challenging weather conditions, there is a risk that this could become more of an issue.

The Sustainable Farming Incentive, UK Government, 13 September 2024

Defra’s warning about food security was issued in September 2023.  But this warning was ignored a few months later with the announcement of yet more upgrades to the scheme.

In November 2023, Steve Barclay was appointed the Secretary of State for Defra.  Within two months, he announced “the biggest upgrade to the UK’s farming schemes since leaving the European Union.”  These upgrades included:

Enhanced payments for ‘creation’ and ‘maintenance’ options to improve the long term incentives for farmers to create habitats and ensure they are rewarded for looking after habitats once they have created them.

Premium payments for actions with the biggest environmental impact or combinations of actions that deliver benefits at scale, such as £765 per hectare for nesting plots for lapwing, and £1,242 per hectare for connecting river and floodplain habitat.

Biggest upgrade to UK farming schemes introduced by the Government since leaving the EU, UK Government, 4 January 2024

In May 2024, the UK government finally realised their folly.  The scheme proved so popular to struggling farmers that the Government was forced to issue a crackdown, warning that growers could only take 25 per cent of their land out of direct food production for environmental projects.

The Telegraph reported that Mark Spencer, the Minister of State for Food, Farming and Fisheries, said the initiative “was always intended to be implemented on smaller areas of land … Food production is the primary purpose of farming and we are taking action to clarify this principle.”

Farmers, and the public at large, don’t need to be told that the primary purpose of farming is food production.  And farmers, and the public at large, would have implemented policies to support farmers to grow more food, not less.

Keith Andrews is not the only farmer issuing warnings about the Government’s policies.  In April, Jeremy Clarkson warned that farmers are being incentivised not to produce food and said he has stopped growing food in some of his fields because it is more profitable to take government eco handouts.

Writing in the Sunday Times magazine, he said: “I have signed up to the government’s eco-friendly grant scheme and will be planting things that aren’t food in three fields.

“They’re good for the soil and they’re good for my bank balance. But it means I’m not growing stuff people can eat,” Clarkson said.

“I know one chap who has taken 60 per cent of his farm out of food production and he’s not alone. So, yippee. All that stored carbon and all of that fixed-in nitrogen.

“But what if you want some bread? You’ll have to get a loaf made from wheat that was grown abroad. And how’s that good for global warming?”
