Neuro technologies are based upon various tools to assess, access and affect structures and functions of the brain that may be involved in cognition, emotion and behaviours. It’s not just a question of trying to figure out what makes the brain tick and the way it’s built, it’s “can we get in there to effect the ticking and, by affecting the way that brain is built, the way it functions.”

This article is a reprint. It was originally published on 24 July 2021.

In 2018 Dr. James Giordano gave a lecture, The Brain is the Battlefield of the Future, to cadets at the US Military Academy, West Point.  Below is a brief outline of topics he covered. Keep in mind this is according to publicly available information at that time.

Brain science or neuroscience, as a named field, has only been in existence for 40 years. Since then, it has grown exponentially.  Increasingly it has become an international, multinational and global endeavour which increases the capability of the brain scientists to develop not only new theories but have more sophisticated tools.

In 2008 the National Academy of Sciences (“NAS”) and the National Research Council (“NRC”) concluded brain sciences were “not ready”.  In other words, they were not viable, valid and of value in national security, intelligence and defence. During subsequent years Dr. Giordano’s group and others internationally, including the Nuffield Council in the UK, conducted a deeper review of the international capabilities. The conclusion: not only were the brain sciences “ready” but they would become more so as countries, globally, developed the capabilities and the specialised agendas to be able to look into and affect the brain. By 2014 NAS and NRC recognised that brain sciences were “ready” and already in operational play.

Brain science technologies can be categorised in two groups: neuro assessment and neuro interventional.

Neuro assessment technologies include: neuroimaging; neurophysiological recording; neurogenomics and genetics; neuroproteomics; and, neuro-cyber informatics.

“The more I know about what makes you tick the more my interactions with you can be geared to make you tick the way I want you to.”

Genetic, biomarker, biological, social and psychological information becomes ever more important.  The more known about us and the way our brain works as individuals, groups, communities and even populations – the more non-kinetic means can be used such as informational means – narratives, iconographies, semiotics – to influence our emotions and behaviours.  This can be done subliminally through computer images or more supraliminally with the types of engagements and interactions through psychological and informational operations.

Neuro interventional technologies include: cyber-linked neurocognitive manipulation; directed energy devices; novel pharmaceuticals; transcranial neuromodulation; implantable brain machine interfaces (“BMIs”); neuromicrobiologicals; organic neurotoxins; and, nanoneurotechnologicals.

Interventional technologies can be used in ways that will directly affect the brain.

Directed energy devices: There is the possibility to use some form of directed energy to affect physiology peripherally and also to affect the physiology and health of the brain.

Pharmaceuticals: The more the specificity of the brain is understood, on a very granular level, the more the ability to derive and develop specific types of drugs.  Drugs that not only can enhance and optimise the performance of people but can also be used to mitigate, militate, or manifest profound morbid changes in people. Other drugs can be exceedingly specific and can be very much used to individualise weaponry in what is called ‘precision pathology’ or ‘precision effect’.

Transcranial neuromodulation: The idea of going through the skull to modulate the node network activity of the brain to optimise, or otherwise, the performance of key individuals in certain tasks.

BMIs: Many of the DARPA programs involve BMI implants. The most notorious is the Next-Generation Nonsurgical Neurotechnology (“N3”) program. The idea is to put minimal sized electrodes in a network within a brain through only minimal intervention to enable reading and writing into the brain function in real-time, and remotely.

Biochemicals: Drugs, bugs, toxins and, more increasingly, devices that may be able to be weaponised. Chemical weapons include drugs and other chemical agents. Biological weapons include microbes and toxins. Devices include neurotechnologies and hybrid “cyborg” systems (biological drones).

In the same vein is a video clip from 2005 of a Pentagon briefing about FunVax (see below), a project to develop a “virus” or “vaccine for religious fundamentalism”.  One thing this clip demonstrates is that pharmaceuticals were weaponised and operational long before NAS and NRC officially recognised brain science technologies as “ready” in 2014.

The idea of pharmaceuticals and biochemicals being used as weapons is very relevant today with the global rollout of experimental, and dangerous, gene therapy drugs under the guise of “Covid-19 vaccines.” The more that is discovered about them, the more their biological and chemical weapon nature is revealed.

The bioweapon component is the man-modified spike protein – the mRNA or DNA for which is in all Covid injections.  The chemical weapon component is graphene.  Preliminary results from a recent study showed Covid injections contain toxic levels of graphene oxide.

It’s difficult to understand why governments and legacy media completely ignore the dangers of graphene being injected into people. Could it be that the Covid injections are serving an additional purpose? Graphene is highly integrative with brain neuron cells and has the potential to turn inoculated people’s brains into both senders and receivers of electrical signals or information. Could it be another experiment, one which involves neurotechnology: the injecting of self-assembling magnetic nanosystems (BMIs)?

We may not yet know all the answers but it cannot be coincidence that in 2013 the European Union launched two flagship projects: Human Brain Project and Graphene Flagship.  Nor can it be coincidence that brain-computer interface technology’s core promise is to enable the brain to communicate directly with computers.

Who benefits from all this research, data collection and neurotechnology? Obviously, not us, the people with “the brains.” Add the fact that brain sciences have been weaponised to assess, access and affect the human brain and it leads to more questions: who are the “friendlies,” who are the “hostiles,” and, who gets to decide? Our brains ARE the battlefield of the future and that future is right here and right now!

Elon Musk said his company Neuralink plans to begin “high-volume” production of its brain-computer implant in 2026.

The tech entrepreneur made the announcement in a post on X.

The Neuralink device is designed to connect the human brain to a computer by reading electrical signals from neurons and translating them into digital commands.

The technology is aimed at allowing users to control devices or regain lost physical function through thought alone.

According to the company, electrodes are positioned near neurons in the brain to “detect action potentials,” enabling the implant to “decode information represented by those cells.”

Neuralink’s website explains that, in movement-related regions of the brain, neurons encode intended motion:

“In the movement-related areas of the brain, for example, neurons represent intended movements,” the site reads.

“There are neurons in the brain that carry information about everything we see, feel, touch, or think.”

The chip is described as fully implantable and cosmetically invisible.

It measures approximately 1.75 inches thick.

Neuralink began human trials in 2024 after addressing safety concerns raised by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The FDA had previously rejected its initial application in 2022.

In April, a paralyzed ALS patient, Brad Smith, became the third person to receive a Neuralink implant and is now able to type using his brain.

Smith, an Arizona husband and father who relies on a ventilator, shared a video demonstrating how he uses the brain-computer interface to control the mouse on his MacBook Pro.

He wrote:

“I am typing this with my brain.

“It is my primary communication.”

He also thanked Musk in the same post, which the Tesla CEO later shared.

As of September, Neuralink said 12 people with severe paralysis worldwide have received the implant, according to a company post on X.

Those patients are using it to control digital and physical tools through thought.

Considering Elon Musk’s efforts to wire people’s brains to send messages to a receiver, Dr. Vernon Coleman shares an extract from a book he published in 1977.

By that time, doctors had been experimenting with electronic stimulation of the brain to induce pleasure, eradicate pain and recall memories.  And by placing electrodes in their brains, patients could be controlled from a distance using small receivers and electrical impulses.

It was revealed this week that Elon Musk is behind a plan to connect wires into the human brain and send messages to a receiver. The following essay is taken from my book `Paper Doctors’ which was first published in 1977 but which is now available again as a paperback.

Wiring the Brain

Electronic stimulation of the brain depends upon the mapping out of the brain and the identification of the sites within it where various categories of thought and emotion originate. To that extent, electronic stimulation of the brain involves the same basic research as psychosurgery. There, however, the similarity ends. Instead of simply destroying part of the brain as the neurosurgeon does when performing psychosurgery, the researcher experimenting with electronic stimulation limits himself to trying to control parts of the brain.

For over a century, doctors have known that if wires are poked into the brain and an electric charge passed through them, there will be different responses from different parts of the brain. A wire poked into one part will cause a leg to move, the same wire poked into another part of the brain will give the patient an erection. Today we know that with the aid of electronic stimulation, doctors can induce pleasure, eradicate pain and recall memories previously lost.

In order to put electrodes into the human brain a number of procedures must first be carried out. First, special X-rays are taken, using air (injected into the spaces inside the brain) to enable the doctors to get a real view of the brain’s actual shape. Eventually, the researchers can tell where to put their electrodes.

Next, small holes are drilled in the skull and hair-thin electrodes are sunk into the brain to the depth the experimenting surgeon desires. The brain has no sense of pain and so the actual insertion of the electrodes into the brain is painless. When the electrodes have been put into position, the exposed ends are fitted with terminals which are fixed to the scalp. To stimulate the brain small amounts of electrical current are passed along the electrodes. Doctors have now developed their techniques to such an extent that they fit small receivers onto the scalp so that electrical impulses can be fired into the brain from afar. The receivers fit under wigs or hats and are supplied with long-lasting batteries. Eventually, no doubt, receivers will be designed which can be fitted under the scalp.

With the electrodes in position, the patient can be controlled quite effectively from a distance. He can be made to eat, to sleep or to work. His appetite, heart rate, body temperature and other factors can also be controlled. The system has great possibilities for helping obese patients to slim. It has also been said that it can be used to help the blind to see. Many wired-up patients have proved to have “pleasure centres” which can be stimulated quite easily. Researchers have noted that patients stimulated in their right places suddenly start talking about sex or acting in a sexually flirtatious manner.

One doctor has predicted that in a not-too-distant future patients requiring anaesthesia will be taken to the operating theatre fully conscious and put to sleep with the aid of a current sent down an electrode into the brain. Another doctor has reported that he already has epileptic patients who are fitted with electrodes and transmitters of their own. When these patients feel a fit starting, they simply press a button and abort the fit.

Researchers have shown that gentle cats can be transformed into aggressive beasts if certain parts of their brains are stimulated. In the 1950s Dr. Delgado of the Yale University School of Medicine showed that two cats, normally quite friendly, could be made to fight fiercely if electrodes implanted in the brain were given impulses. Even when it continually lost its fights, the smaller of the two cats continued to be aggressive when stimulated. In one dramatic experiment, Dr. Delgado wired a bull with electrodes and then planted himself in the middle of a bullring with a cape and a small radio transmitter. The bull charged but was stopped by Dr. Delgado pressing a button on his transmitter. The bull screeched to a halt inches away from its target. Dr. Delgado has reported that “Animals with implanted electrodes in their brains have been made to perform a variety of responses with predictable reliability as if they were electronic toys under human control.”

Similar experiments have been performed with human beings. The patients selected had all proved dangerous and had shown that they had uncontrollable tempers. By electronic stimulation every patient was controlled. More detailed accounts of these experiments can be read in Physical Control of the Mind by J.M.R. Delgado.
